Earlier crosses

Earlier crosses

We all love to see a winger taking on and beating his man, but there are times when i think we do it too often. Rather than sometimes put in an early cross our players always seem to want to take on their man.

Variety is the spice of life so they say.

Maybe we should be less predictable and put some earlier balls into the box? However it also requires our strikers to be playing a very high line.....

I know I don't see us that often, but whenever I do, early crosses would be a total waste of time because there is very rarely anyone far enough forward!

id say the reason wingers take on fullbacks is to get as close to the byline/box as possible as thats the most dangerous place to cross a ball it makes it harder the keeper to come out and get the ball as oppose to crossing diagonal balls

or taking it even further still and crossing the ball low across the goal mouth along the floor where the slightest touch could take the ball in

We just don't have the pace up top to get on the end of these early crosses you want. When we do send an early one in all too often they go harmlessly across the box to safety. I think our wide men all too often have to wait for Mullin and Jevo to catch up before they can cross. This also gives the likes of Drummie a chance to get in the mix, which he frequently does by popping in a few headed goals every season.

Nah, if you get as close to the byline as you can, then take it further still, that would be a goal kick silly! 8-)
