Immediate reaction, don't like. Might like it when I see it 'in use' on a shirt etc but not an instant hit with me.

Could be a 'Marmite' crest?

So how did that work out then?

Like it. Very minimalist. Not overly cluttered with elaborate symbolism and extraneous colours.

Like Keith... initial dislike but I think I need to give it time and context to see if my view of it improves.

Slight concerns with the red colouring (especially with the added gradient) on the shield blending too much with shirt colours and the font choice looks... well, lazy. However, I do like the modern shaping of the shield and the gold trim.

Thats what i did and it looks really striking and good on the stadium images on the website. i think the font is very clean and will be well visible from a distance - the problem with more ornate - or even darker, chunkier ones or ones with borders etc is they tend to blur and merge at a distance. this is crisp and very clear. i suppose theyve used the colour grading specificly (sp?) to make it stand out on a red shirt

I like it BTW

Funny you should say that, Jody and I thought the same....

I like, by the way. After the intial surprise when it appeared on the screen, it's growing on me. Okay, it's radical and not exactly traditional, but it's appropriate, stylish and bold, and I think most of us will grow to like it by the time we see it taking pride of place on the front of the Globe Arena! I also think it kind of looks like a shrimp in front of a red fishing boat.... 8-)

I neither like or dislike the new badge. I think what has been produced is approprite given that prior to using the town crest we did have a shrimp on the shirt, although I had hoped we would have tried to incorporate more of what is on the current badge. Also, I would like to have seen the town motto on the new crest 'beauty surrounds, health abounds' which is on club stationery but has not been on the shirt since the mid-nineties.

Looks more like a prawn to me. I would have preferred to have retained some of the town's heritage with a more modern interpretation of the present badge. However, I'll live with it.

I definitely LIKE it.

Modern, bold, very clear "branding" for merchandise.

Can't wait to buy the new merch!

It's ok, just wish there something on the bottom, like the emphasis on the shrimp but maybe a bit too much.

Come to think of it, It'll look great as you see it on the stadium in large. The only time it will look out of place is when it is on its own. It'l look good on the shirt.

For what its worth my view on that is you either do one or the other. You either keep it clean and neat and striking (and i think they have done that).

or you go down the more formal 'coat of armsy' type route with scrolls and 'add-ons'. i wouldn't like anything added to this crest and I agree, ezz it already looks good on the Globe Arena picture on the website but they may want to put a couple of gold stars on the shirt again for the Wembley wins!
