New Stadium update Friday 8 January

New Stadium update Friday 8 January

Postby Christies Child » Fri Jan 08, 2010 7:18 pm

Took a look at the new stadium this morning and the home end is fast taking shape in fact the steelwork is almost completed.

Unfortunately I haven't a clue how to upload the photos onto SVs that I took.

I could of course e-mail them to somebody who could then upload them.... :?: :?: :?:

Place them into a document on your PC.

Look where it says 'Upload attachment' underneath 'Submit'

Then click on 'Browse'

Find the file on your PC

Repeat for mulitple photos

Voila! 8-)

Great pictures, would be nice to see some new ones on the stadium website. If that is the home end it doesn't look very big. I know its hard to judge the scale from a picture, but it doesn't seem as tall as the North Stand.

i dont think its going to be has big has the north stand.i imagine the ground will look something like walsalls ,with a large side stand and smaller stands on the remaining 3 sides.

Considerably smaller than the North Stand, though with the new main stand being somewhat larger than the one we have now the effect is to make it look even smaller.

I think its about a 2,000 capacity against approximately 3,000 for the North Stand

Driven past the ground today and the Home end is even further along than those photo's suggest.

It's not as big as the North Stand but one look at the capacities tells you that!

Much smaller than the North Stand, but we'll be able to get even more people singing with everyone standing much closer. Also, it will look full every home game judging by those pictures.

Nobody is allowed onto the site without prior permission. I took the photos from behind the perimeter fencing ( well its a change from behind bushes.... )

As for the home stand size, it is smaller than the present North Stand but that was to be expected.
However I can imagine that the sound from supporters will be far greater than at present which is often drowned out by the opposition.

One thing that is apparent is that the Main Stand dwarfs the Home Stand....

It's difficult to imagine how the finished stadium will look but at the moment there appears to be a conflict of scale between the stands already under construction. One thing that I feel will affect the scheme visually will be the lack of covered area on the side facing the Main Stand. But I'd rather have a larger Community Block providing a constant revenue stream than a covered area only used on match days.

Anybody got a clue where the 'potting shed' housing Chesh and his toys will be?
