Still struggling to understand how you can take a free kick, it's saved, you get booked for taking it before the whistle and allowed to re-take it and score.

That has got to be the most daft rule ever, same thing happened at Wycombe on saturday but luckily they did not have the quality to do anything with the retake.

I just hope this is not an area refs have been advised to look at and act on this season as surely there are more important things that need improving on such as player behaviour etc.

Thought we had a good spell second half for 20 mins and then the second goal killed it off. Cant believe that Martin was signed on loan from Man U in time for the game and could be a threat for forest in the championship if he can avoid getting lumped by some of the defences in that league.

I still feel very positive with Howe looking to be a good signing and will provide a serious threat for against lesser teams in league 2. Curtis and hunter did well for most of the game.

Forest made us look very average, but then they are a Championship side.

Im sure when we come up against other league 2 teams we will be much much better.

howe looked like he could be useful against a slower team but forest just rushed him off the ball all last night.

Curtis and hunter were just a little off the pace of the forest midfield but again, against league 2 opposition they look like they have done enough off season to run the socks off other midfield/defences.

I think this is one area they must look at . OK we were battered last night , but everyone around us was going nuts. If a player [opposition] takes a free kick before the ref 'whistles' he should be booked AND forfeit the free kick ; possession goes to the other team - they get a free kick from the same spot.
I hav'nt a clue what the 'rules' say about it , but you should not get a second free kick.

It should be like a foul throw, where the throw goes to the other team.
I bet a ref would think about a booking if the player taking the early free kick had been booked earlier in the game.
The team should loose out rather than the individual that made the error by taking the kick before the whistle.

last night once the 2nd goal went in our heads dropped

The thing that really got my goat was that the ref saw the original free kick had been taken, put the whistle to his mouth to blow for the retake, but actually waited to see what happened before he blew. Why wait? Surely he wasn't going to play 'advantage' if the ball went in the net? Or was it to see if the ball went out for a goal kick & award us a goal kick rather than a retake? I dont know, but either way it made me think that he didn't perhaps know what he was doing!

There not allowed that many crowd pictures i'm afraid. This is because it's on the actual Morecambe FC official site.

As I'm responsible for the photos on the official site, perhaps you could point me to that particular rule? What isn't going to appear on the official site are the supporters winding up the stewards, nor will pictures of those escorted away from that particular group and neither will pictures of one person sent to no-mans-land towards the end of the game.

The actual reason, if anyone hasn't already made their own mind up, is the away supporters were at the back of the lower tier and in quite a dark area, the photos are fairly crap and you wouldn't recognise yourselves **. I'd also like to point out that the mfcphotos site was the club's official photo site and there's no change to the rules (what rules?) applied to photos that appear on it.

** at the moment club photos are done on a voluntary basis with our own cameras so please, no better camera jokes.

A quick stat-attack (http://www.soccerbase.com/refs2.sd?refid=806) shows he's the same ref who officiated at the Morecambe v Peterborough game last December, when Artell was controversially sent off!!! Remember the name.... Boyeson. ;)
