Please send positive thoughts... Update

Postby Morecambe Player » Thu Dec 24, 2009 10:48 am

Big Morecambe supporter and former steward Steve Pearson who travels with us to away games, as well as attending all the home games had a massive heart attack last night and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at the RLI. He's in a stable condition at the moment, but the next 24-48 hours will be crucial. I'm sure a lot of you will know Steve.

Not the best news on a Christmas Eve but hopefully if we can send him positive thoughts hopefully he'll pull through...

Both my parents have been in coronary care at the RLI over the past year or two - he couldn't be in better hands.

Best wishes Steve - proper Morecambe fan for many years.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Get well soon Steve. We'll be thinking of you on Boxing Day, and you will be in my families prayers tonight of all nights.

I've been under the care of the cardiologists at the RLI and like Glenn says, you couldn't be in better hands.

Keep your chin up mate and do as the nurses/doctors say.

Look forward to your return on a matchday in the near future.

Thanks for all the best wishes, I'll make sure they're passed on. There is no change at the moment and he is still in a stable condition hooked up to everything and being kept sedated.

Will let you all know if there's any change.

Well after a week in intensive care it looks like Steve is on the mend.

He has been taken off the sedation and is now awake and alert. Unfortunately in his absence, The Shrimps have lost both games! He has his scarf and Jim Bentley shirt over his bed and I shall be seeing him later this evening with a print out of you good wishes.

Thanks again

Well Steve's now been kicked out of hospital and is back home convalescing. He is recovering and hopefully will be his old self very soon.

He wanted to pass on his thanks to all SVers for their thoughts and lovely messages of support and hopes to see all his friends at the game soon. Hereford probably comes a little early even though he was itching to go but you can't rush these things so it's better to be safe than sorry. He is on the road to recovery though, and the messages gave him great comfort.

Missed many games..... !!!!!!!

Those that have been postponed have been done deliberately so that Steve can watch them when they are re-arranged.

Good to hear he's escaped!
