I think that would be a good move for him. I like Chris Coleman and could see carl doing well under him.

Always thought he was destined for higher things that Stockport, they'll be losing a superb player but his loss should secure the clubs future in the short term.
Shame but that's life!

Good luck to Carl. What I've seen of him this season he's probably ready for the step up.

From a Morecambe FC point of view I hope he commands a decent transfer fee and not a fire sale have to sell type of fee.

If the rumours about Stockports financial mess and impending administration are also true then I hope we get our cut of any fee before that happens, so that we aren't lumped in with the no doubt long list of other creditors and end up getting a fraction of whats due or nothing at all.

Good point.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that all football related monies due are the priority when deciding who gets what in the final shake up of things. Didn't Leeds find themselves unpopular with other clubs as a result of not paying monies due and this lead to a FL directive?

Yes I think football related debts fall into the category of 'preferential creditors' as now do the inland revenue. I suppose anything is better than nothing and it may have a bearing on whether Sammy gets to bring anyone in in January, if indeed he has anyone in mind.
