A big thanks is owed to the 40 hardy souls who have helped clear the snow off the pitch. Proper dedcation. Even Jimmy G was down today! Top effort.

Without these guys there would have been no game.

I saw the club shop was open on my way out too. Had to stop and buy some End of Era gear on my way out.

So, they got the pitch cleared and some money into the coffers ;)

Well done to the volunteers, also to the groundstaff, who no doubt would have been on the brunt of the keyboard experts sticking their oar in had the match not gone ahead today.

60 people got this game on today, I may add none of the board except Rod in a supervisory role got theor hands dirty or so i could see!!. 3400+ turned up on boxing day. if we rescheduled for a Tuesday night perhaps 1500 less, which would have meant £15k less in tickets sales, and they offered a Pie which could be redeeemed from a person that was probably unknown to most of the helpers and no guidance from where they should get this Pie from.

Totally unprofessional, and makes me wonder what sort of board we have.

Bad show MFC!!! If we were Scunthorpe at least the helpers would have been offered free admittance today!!! Shame on you.

Love for the club pal, we're you told you would get free admittance!! Nope I believe the answer is, I personally did not mind I will support my team 100%, did I get something for the bus project?? Nope, why did I do it?? For the satisfaction of helping my beloved team!!! Simples....

Shame on you Hoooti!!!

Bollocks mr TGG.

There was no guidance whe we got down there, at lot of the time we had to guide ourselves. It says to me that the club are driven by people that dont really care. They have reaped major profit from our endeavours and no one thanked me!!! This says it all!!!!

Will I do it again. Probably yes as I want MFC forge, ahead but I do think some sort of gratitude would be nice from our Football club.

Hang on a sec! This is getting silly.

First of all there was no free pie. It was a joke! CC said we all deserved a pie and I took the mickey by saying he was going to buy everyone a pie.

Secondly I was asked to say thanks by Rod Taylor to all the volunteers and give recognition at the match. When I did that the rest of that fans gave a huge round of applause. Did you miss that Hooti? 2.45pm

As for direction, you must have got down late. When I got down, everyone was busy clearing the lines, then it was the goal mouths and centre circle, then it was 'sod it' lets do the lot. The clear instruction I got (which was the only one needed) was "shovel the snow on the ground into a barrow and dump it over there". It worked!

BTW There was more than one director there and Mark Dixon made a lovely brew for everyone that was down there!

It was hard work but I enjoyed every minute of it. :D
