me neither Mark considering the quality of the opposition
we're featuring 11 classic games in the last match programme
perhaps we should also include this one now?

Forget best ever performance at Christie Park.

One of the greatest performances by any side ever.

Brazil 1970
The Dutch in the 70's
Liverpool against Forest in 1989
And now Morecambe verses Bournemouth.

In fact that was art not football.

People in years to come will write books, films, operas and songs to that genius yesterday.

of course there are great games for different eras and the comparisons of the quality and standard of football..................i know we beat wolves and preston fantastic matches
but this was a league team flying last season and this season and to beat them 5 0 is a landmark achievement and at the pie in our last season is imho
just fantastic.................

Still one of my all time favourites that one. went up to South Shields in the first leg which was a superb 2-0 win. Still a nagging doub't for the return leg. Jimmy Sutton screamer put that to bed and we're off to wembley :D Lot of memories from that day plus a particular disaster for a 15 year Sgt Major!! Not really one that I think he would want going into print but a lot of water has passed under the bridge since them and I'm sure he can look back and laugh now.

To this day that was still the best atmosphere ever on what was the scratching shed at the school end (now the North Stand). Forget the Ipswich game or the play off semis, that day was pure adrenaline filled electricity in there.

Having bathed in the glory of that game and finally come down I'd say the only match that comes close or betters it was the first half against Bury in our promotion season. The first half we were up 3-0 but it could have been 7. We were utterly brilliant for 45 minutes.

sorry to put a dampener on that posh but we only beat bury 2 1 in the first season - bentley and twiss with our goals and bishop with burys in second half (first half performance was excellent though)

Remember Shampagne football against Burton on the last day of the season in 2003 - just before the playoffs.

Hard to say what is 'the best' team performance when you play a team playing poorly. Were we that good or did Bournemouth just make us look that way?

There have been a few teams who 'had an off day' when they played us. Eventually you have to think it's down to us, being able to stop the opposition from playing, while still being able to play ourselves?

The one 'general' thing that I think has changed, even from the start of the season, is we are all 'working harder', as in everyone is fighting to get back and get the ball back when we lose possession.

I was thinking to myself during the game, 'who for man of the match' and I couldn't easily pick one, or even narrow it down to four or five. It must have been 'easy' for the sponsors in that they really could have given it to any outfield player and not been criticised. They could have given it to Barry and no one would have cared!
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

So how did that work out then?

Ah yes mate.......... The boys in blue were obviously NOT Morecambe FC fans as they did me for the heinous crime of............ Celebrating our win in the town centre afterwards. Spent a night in the clink with Dave Burrows who was trying to get the Union Jack off the Town Hall - Happy Days!

I was obviously a faster runner than you Mick. It was only the ones at the back who got nabbed for that heinous offence of excessive celebration

I stand corrected 2-0 up not 3-0, but we were brilliant.
