Morecambe won their fifth game in a row with a convincing victory over in-form Bury.
The Shrimps scored three second-half goals to inflict a rare defeat on Alan Knill's side who were on a 11 match unbeaten run before this game.

Phil Jevons was the star of the show with two goals as he took his season's tally to 11.

The on-loan Huddersfield man, who spent a period on loan at Bury last season, opened the scoring on the hour from the penalty spot.

Will Haining's header towards goal struck Bury defender Tom Newey on the arm and Jevons sent Wayne Brown the wrong way for his 10th league goal of the season.

Seven minutes later it was 2-0 for the Shrimps as they had a huge slice of luck.

Jevons was again involved with a cross from the right-hand side that was heading for Paul Mullin until Bury defender Ben Futcher intervened to head past his own keeper who was left flat-footed.

Jevons ended the game on a high with his second 10 minutes from the end.

Michael Twiss did well to create space down the left and produce the perfect cross for the striker to slot home unmarked at the far post.

The first half saw few chances in a game played in driving rain and swirling wind.

The Shrimps started well with Shakers' keeper Wayne Brown forced into a smart tip over in the first minute as Craig Stanley's cross hung in the wind.

From there Jevons headed a Garry Hunter near post cross wide and Stanley did well to race on to a Twiss left-wing cross but directed his effort wide of the right hand post.
