i did notice in the paper on sat that jevons makes it onto the league's top scorers table, something like 5th with 9. not seen a morecambe player there for a while!

Both correct. Nine League goals, ten in all competitions.

Hope Morecambe can offer him a 2-3 year contract come May. Personally the more goals ghe gets chances are maybe a League1 club could take a chance on him and he looks good for this level league2.

Can't see any business being done in January. He's allways scored goals so is likely to be a sought after asset. From a personal point of view he's probably better waiting till the end of his contract at Huddersfield and seeing what offers come in. If he scores circa 20+ goals this season he would no doubt be able to command a very decent signing on fee and contract in the lower leagues.

On the other hand the waiting game can be dangerous because serious injury can mean hero to zero instantaneously. I would imagine it would take a decent long term contract and a transfer fee to do any business in January, but if we could finance it it would be great for the fans.

Finances allowing for a signing...then I think its up to PJ to decide if he's been happy at CP and if he can see the benefit of playing for a club who looks after its players and is showing ambitious plans for the future.

I'd love him to sign along with Haining, Panther and Craney.

However are their not certain 'key' players out of contract at the end of this season?

That lot could almost make up a team that would give most teams a game!

I'd agree with you. But talking to him when he first came to us he was definitely wanting to impress us to try to get a contract with US. And he seemed a very genuine bloke, he didn't have to say anything on those lines - a 'well we'll have to see what happens' would have done.

But he said things like 'that would be disrespectful to Morecambe who have been good enough to give me this chance' when I asked him about putting himself 'in the shop window'.

I like his attitude and he's a good finisher so I'd certainly be happy if we could strike a deal.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Does scoring two and arguably MotM count as a blinder? :D   :D

Considering we are 1/3 through the season, and hes scored 12 goals? If we manage to keep hold of him until the end of the season, and hopefully sign him fully. He could have 36 goals if he keeps up this form

he plays for another team. we are lucky to have him for now, but given his very good game to goal ratio i think they will either want him back or want to sell him in january

They both signed a 12 month extension last November which takes them through to September 2010.

Phil Jevons done well on Tuesday, just needs to clear the wax out of his ears and play to the whistle more often! Although he did appear drowned at the time

Is Criag Stanley not out of contract next summer as well? I thought he signed a two and a half year deal at Christmas 2007

If he keeps scoring other League1 teams will have a look at him or maybe Huddlesfield might call him back.
