I think to say he's lost the plot is a bit harsh. At the end of the day if he's running a club which is in danger of getting relegated and he hears about players drinking before games he has every right to voice his concerns. He sounds like a fair man to me in that interview.

I believe Wenger at Arsenal has a complete ban on alcohol during the season. The modern game means players have to be 100% fit all the time, not only training but also eating the right stuff. Going out drinking undoes all that work. Perhaps even as little as 15 years ago it would be fine but nowadays you need every advantage you can get.

Maybe I did'nt make my point clear. "lost the plot" was referring to publicly asking for evidence as opposed to keeping this type of stuff "in house" where it should be kept I.M.O. ;) As one comment says he is opening the floodgates for abuse and possible set ups
