CancerCare's, People’s Millions Big Lottery Bid went live today – which means they have until midnight to get as many votes as possible.

Back in May this year, CancerCare pulled together a bid for the People’s Millions Big Lottery Fund in conjunction with ITV regional television programmes. The bid was for £48,500 to create a beautiful and productive garden at Slynedales which could be used for therapeutic purposes as well as providing volunteering and fundraising opportunities. Gardening can help a person to rebuild their strength after illness and can provide a purposeful activity and sense of achievement for someone coping with a difficult period in their life and therefore the addition of such a garden at Slynedales would be wonderful.

The bid was shown on Granada Reports tonight between 6pm – 6.30pm. The voting lines are open now until midnight tonight – 0871 626 88 33 – You can vote up to 10 times from any number, calls cost 10p from landlines.

Please vote today – this is a chance we can’t miss. Each day this week 2 projects go head to head, the project which gets the most votes each day wins their bid, the runner up projects then get a further chance as the one with the most votes at the end of the week also gets their bid money. So they have 2 chances – all we need are the votes.
