50 points always seems to be the "guaranteed safety" target. Last season Grimsby were safe with 41 points but only because Luton had points deducted. Taking Bournemouth out also would have put Macclesfield safe with their 47 points. Grimsby only had 6 points at this stage last year so even tho they are in the do do again they have improved on their points tally as have most teams, including ourselves, in the bottom 10 (Darlo apart).
I would expect Grimsby inparticular to strengthen their team in January with a view to avoiding the drop so 47 points is the cut-off for me
