I've just worked the full thing out :
"The rule, which covers the Full Strength Team Policy, stipulates that the starting 11 for all games within the competition must include 6 players who have made most starting appearances in League and domestic cup competition fixtures during that season."Starting eleven for Morecambe :
Collin
Kane
Raven
Murphy
Horwood
Hurst
Burns
Kavanagh
Robson
Madine
Offiong
Starts in the 7 league and cup games before Morecambe
Pidgeley 7
Harte 7
Livesey 7
Murphy 3
Raven 7
Robson 7
Anyinsah 7
Hurst 4
Thirlwell 3
Taiwo 7
Dobie 6
Kavanagh 5
Keogh 4
Bridge-Wilkinson 2
Taylor 1
Players above Hurst's total of 4 - Pidgeley, Harte, Livesey, Raven, Robson, Anyinsah, Taiwo, Dobie, Kavanagh.
Problem - injuries to Taiwo and Livesey, needed to play Hurst and new boy Offiong.
Still leaves seven players there with the most starts before Hurst (six required by the rule) - Pidgeley, Harte, Raven, Robson, Anyinsah, Dobie, Kavanagh.
In actual fact we only played three of those - Kavanagh (5), Raven (7), Robson (7).
Six of the starting eleven against Morecambe had actually made no prior starts at all - Collin, Kane, Horwood, Burns, Madine, Offiong.
The other two - Murphy 3 and Robson 4.
Conclusion = cock-up.
