3 of their goals came via play down our LEFT flank..ie where DA was defending.

The other came when Gaz was playing in midfield with Duffy as a wing back.

SMc soon changed that with GH reverting to a right sided defensive role with Duffy moving further up the field.

Our penalty looked dubious, but they had an almost certain one turned down!

Being willing to play after a car crash is one thing, a manager picking someone to play a few hours later is another. People regularly complain that the likes of myself might be bad for the confidence of players if they come on here. What about Henry McStay's confidence? How do you think he feels knowing that other players get in the side ahead of him even when they aren't 100%?

football history in general is full of managers plainmg unfit favorites, whilst having fit player able to fit in at their disposal with dire results, I bet scott davies and craig stanley feel great at the moment

yeah does that a lot McStay comes into that bracket aswell, you could argue the same with Wainwright dropping him last season after playing him out of position

id have Twiss in for Jevons at least Twissy shoots, and before anybody says i know Jevons as a good career record

I haven't forgotten him, but he was in the crash yesterday and wasn't able to make the bench so I left him out. I made the point about Samy leaving him out last week. What incentive is there for our two young centre-backs if they know that it wouldn't matter how well they played, they'd still find themselves on the bench again as soon as the likes of Artell and Adams are available? What incentive does McStay have when he doesn't even get a chance when one of those has been in a crash a few hours earlier?

Good shout. If we go 4-4-2, we need players at the back who have a bit of pace and agility to make it work. Although personally, I think Wilson's attacking flair is a bit wasted at left back.

I'd like to think that McStay and Parrish will get their chance, but I doubt it.

Not really, as he has the pace to overlap and still get a cross in and get back and defend. Not seen much of that support though since Yatesy used to do all the time with Thommo. ;)

There are too many people here who think that sacking half decent managers is effective. I wonder if too many have got caught up in some "football manager game" cyber space induced fantasy that has given them hugely exaggerated notions of their own knowledge, skills and abilities. I've grown to expect more balance, more optimism and more maturity on this site, but maybe rose tinted is moving out of fashion - how sad.

In my opinion, we were well beaten by a side that will probably be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. There were some extenuating circumstances about our squad. We have had some bad luck with injuries to critical players in the spine of our team - (Roche, Haining and Panther). Up to yesterday a lot of people, me among them, were happy that we were playing well but had been very unlucky. Has that all changed after losing 4-2 at home? For me no.

Yesterday was not a good performance but the team and the management will know that. It happens sometimes. I am not worried about the quality of the players or the ability of the management team. The one thing I am worried about is confidence, the longer this period of not winning goes on, the more the the team doubts themselves. The more their own supporters abuse the manager and players, at matches and on here, the more the team doubts themselves.

If I was on the board I certainly would not be considering a knee jerk reaction to a poor performance.

A lot of people on here need to get a grip.

well said Mr Bum

far too much hysteria on here......

they should chill out and watch the cheesemakers on countryfile tonight theyre in the bowland forest

i just spoke to a "Morecambe player" and mentioned the problem about formation&system to him he wouldn't comment to much but agreed with a lot of what i said but did say the team feel confident to climb the table and just put it all down to consistency over 90mins and said not once this season have we played well for 90mins

but did agree when in the lead instead of sitting back and defending they should attack more but easier said than done

i do have a bit more faith now..

Comments on a forum like this should be taken as a pinch of salt.

Not many moons ago the net didn't exist.
We had a moan on the terrace or in the pub and that was it.
The world was a safer place.
If you wanted porn or worse then it was a bit harder to find than at the touch of a keyboard.

All week I've been listening on TalkSport about Benetiz being a waste of space.
The pundits have been at it, Mickey (5-ton) Quinn being the worst.
All they do is wind people up.
Sadly they are successful.
But what happened this afternoon at Anfield?
Not what a lot of idjits had hoped for!

Time for another......

Probably the most sensible thing you've ever posted on here Peter, and the first time one of your comments hasn't needed to be taken with a pinch of salt!

So how did that work out then?

Well, I think posting that pretty much proved my point! My point of course is ALL COMMENTS should be taken with a pinch of salt, in ALL THREADS!

At this present moment in time (recession & all) I wouldn't be coming out with comments like that or you might just lose the club even more of its shaky fan base,
I turn out with my son no matter what but some people who aren't regulars already 'disgruntled' by what's happening on the pitch might just see your advice as the green light not to bother coming ever again.
