I feel privileged to have had the opportunity.
When I was in the RN most of the foreign sightseeing was in the nearest 'dives' or worse!
The Foreign Office was slightly more cultured.
When I got told I'd been posted to Riyadh someone said that if you like a drink, then that's the place to do it.
As it's a dry ultra-Islamic country I thought he was having me on.
But he was right, and I was working in the one place in the Kingdom that had 'legal' access to booze!
Next month a bit of kulture, Kebabs and Efes in Istanbul.
Then a month in Myanmar in February.
Life's a bitch :)

It's like these numpties who name their kids after something to do with a team!
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Scotland?
He runs a book shop in Petersfield, which is about 25 miles closer to Scotland than JPFC's beloved Pompey.
