yeah Twissy had a couple of good runs at him beat him almost with his first touch and whipped a good ball across the goal mouth, what Beckham would have been proud of

i see him more effective as a left winger for us

Paid approximately £160,000 to play one game of football! That's £1,778 per minute of competitive football for Notts County! Surely that will make him the most expensive player ever to grace Christie Park?

And he spent most of it being dumped on his arse!

To be fair, Elam was a mercenary twat, but at least I turned in a half decent display when he was on the pitch!

one positive from Campbell playing at Morecambe and then quiting is that the club has been mentioned more times than I can remember. We headlined most L2 coverage in the Sundays
which is a first (I think) also plenty of mentions on football prog's. Not that impressed with some of the Jurnos asumptions of what it's like at the Pie or in league 2 for that matter, but publicity is, as someone said is Publicity.

I heard his contract was worth 10mil, does that mean he has to buy it out to quit?
Get over it ;)

So obviously he doesn't need the money after all but you have to be envious of him for having the presence of mind to realise that he'd made an error in the first place and rectifying with immediate effect.

Like us, even former heroes can mess up but the it's made worse by all the coverage it receives.
Anyway a lesson learned for Sol.

What is bizarre watching the various BBC reports, is that he posed for a series of team photos just before he quit. :?

Notts County will probably make money out of the returned shirts! Stick 'em on EBay and sell them to Morecambe fans!

Jimbo should have one on his wall with finger prints all over it

Nice one ;)

Mike Gibson wrote:
Oh poor Sol. The 'enormity of the drop' was what caused him to leave. Nothing to do then with him being slow, over-weight and unfit. Nothing to do with his horrendously late tackle (not malicious just woefully slow) on Manny Panther it broke his foot. Nothing to do with being dumped on his rear twice by Phil Jevons. Nothing to do with being skinned twice by Michael Twiss who admis to being short on pace. Or nothing to do with the fact that Notts County lost, should have been by more and looked anything but a promotion side. He left because of the shame of being paid £40K a week for what a young up and coming non-leaguer could have done as well and with passion for a 50th of the price.

I don't like Campbell. He comes to Christie Park, breaks Panthers foot, plays really dirty so I booed him off leading to his departure from Notts County ;) :D .

We won't go into the complexities of football being a short career and all that but when I said the word 'Hero' I was referring to his 3 Lions days as a well respected England international and a top defender.

When he chose to leave Spurs for Arsenal, in most peoples eyes that's a Big step up and better money aswell....................................He'd of been a fool not to go
