title more accurately reflects the subject! ;)

At least it's not cricket...

So how did that work out then?

ref lost control of the game for a while and both sides had they're fair share of dirty play.
Wigan deserved the win I think, their defence was just too good.

As for Rugby being for failed football players??????? you obviously haven't seen a Rugby league game in your life! A footballer wouldn't last 1 minute.

Rugby League is a very fast, intense and simple game
Rugby Union is a slower, more tactical and most of all a thinking mans game

People generally take up the notion that rugby league is 'better' than rugby union because there are actually rules you need to know when your watching union where as league is a pretty simple game and the rules can be picked up whilst watching, if people could be arsed to learn some of the rules of Union then its actually a fantastic game to watch.

Completely right, I've played both league and Union with football players and yes most of them have the fitness and pace but most dont have the strength to cope with any code of rugby... We used to do joint training sessions at college with the football team and we used to slog them to within an inch of the lives!! and It was fantastic

Rugby Yawnion? Kick. Thinking mans game? Kick. Tactics to it? Kick. Entertaining? Kick. You are having a laugh. Kick.

Did I mention there is a lot of kicking and watching rubgy union domestically is now about as interesting as watching paint dry. Unless England are playing or the lions are touring, nobody cares. Kick.

got to agree about the kicking game that the international Rugby UNION game has become. I find it hard to sit and enjoy watching England play anymore, but the domestic league in this country is top class.
Rugby league has very little kicking away of possesion and you'll only see a kick used in a possitive attacking manor. I'd disagree about there being less rules and technicality compared to Union, League just encourages a more fast pace, flowing version of the game.
The only reason Rugby Union is seen as the thinking man's game is because of the snobbery that's directed towards the working class, mainly Northern based League heartland, similar to the situation that cricket experienced with the class divide of professional players and the gentlemen. League was formed as a breakaway code for proffessionals to be able to make a living out of it.

As for keeping the chat on this board to only football! Why? I thought this board was a Morecambe FC fans forum, I am a Morecambe fan who happens to also support Wigan Warriors. Jb's bar and The North stand are also for Morecambe FC supporters but when your in there you don't just talk about football do you?????
