Until competing sides decide to forfeit their FA cup place (like Man Utd did) for a more lucrative competition.

Simple solution.... Fans don't have to go..or wont be able to afford to go!

I think we will find ourselves that we get less away fans this season and that our own away support will not be in the same numbers due to transport costs and other factors.

Just imagine the transport costs for the team this season. The Board couldn't have known when working out the budgets for this season that fuel was going to go up like it has. It also applies to the players who will find their travel costs have increased and therefore they will expect the club to compensate them no doubt.

Glorified friendlies - don't think many ManU fans have been to South Africa or Chelsea fans to the far east this summer.

"Fans" of the 'BIG' teams Man U , L'Pool and to a lesser extent Chelsea , Arsenal are already there in most locations. Whether it be China ,Japan , Russia most places those teams will draw crowds. Go outside the top four though and you'd be struggling - say Aston Villa or Fulham it would be a bit of a non-event. The big teams will draw crowds and CASH almost anywhere. There will be a good handful of fans of those teams who will probably tie a match in with a holiday , but its all about CASH / PROFIT they could'nt careless about the loyal week in / week out fans - they'll argue it accommodates their international fan base ...blah..blah...blah

I wish the top four would bugger off with the rest of the big European sides and set-up their own leagues. Whilst I admire Arsenal for the football they produce, the set-up that they operate under is totally to the detriment of the English game, that being producing players that are good enough to represent the Country. If you're honest, I'd say that most of the teams are now more bothered about chasing the dollar than bringing on home grown talent and thus appease this great nation's desire for international success. Its just not cricket. I believe that the premiership would be far more interesting and less predictable without the so called big four.
