Back to basics, that's the solution.
Pubs opening hours: 1100-1430 and 1730-2300 (ditto weekends). That's 9 hours per day in total.
Nightclubs: Who needs them?
Supermarkets and off-licences: 1100-1800. 7 hours per day in which to stock-up.
Restaurants: Alcohol sold only with meals.
It's simple, so what is the problem?

Bollards. 1100-1430 and 1730-2300 is hardly taking away access to boozers.

Get the Mrs to buy your pop.
Let the binge drinkers buy their pop a bit earlier. And that's another thing, stop booze being a loss-leader in supermarkets, and take away the amount of choice.
Independent off-licences would probably benefit.

Totally irrelevant.

Does your Mrs buy your pop or do you? In the last month how often have you bought booze outside the hours you suggest. Just another stupid thread from popped up Peter. Foe button pressed.

We've got Morrison's and Asda within 5 minutes walk from home, and I can nip into Asda near work as and when, but never had to.
Never had to buy it outside the hours I suggest.
How do you know I'm popped-up?
