We have never lost to Chesterfield we seem to be their bogy side even when we have played shockingly bad we have managed to get a result, like the 2v2 draw when Simon Grand scored in the last min but they could and should have been 6v1 up.

1v1 with us getting a late goal in the 89th min.

A 2-1 win that we don't deserve with Craney and Artell scoring.

Honestly can't see us winning this one, a draw if we are very lucky, i'm going for a 2-1 loss. Jevons :(

Looking at the fixtures at the start of the season I anticipated a really strong start.

I liked how a lot of players had performed pre-season and was impressed by the signings we made.

I thought (and still do) that Hereford, Burton, Barnet and Macclesfield would all be bottom half of the table sides with at least two of them fighting against relegation.

I thought Chesterfield would be fighting at the other end and that we'd find this one extremely tough.

So, having done far worse than I thought in the opening four games, we 'should' get well beaten in this one.

So 2-1 to us then?
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Yup, that's pretty much how I saw it. I thought that by now we'd have a decent number of points and that this was going to be our first really stern test. I've got no idea what will happen this weekend, will we click because we're playing a better team? Will we have a bit of good luck instead of repeatedly bad luck? Or will we just sink without trace against a strong team?

Hopefully after 7 days without a game we can go into this one at full stretch, and maybe manage a 2-0 win?

I know it's tough at the moment, but where has all the optimism gone from, let's see, 3 weeks ago!!

The players and management don't need to be reading all this gloom - let's get behind 'em :D

I know we have only played 4 league games but i dont think we have even looked like winning any of those games and none of the 4 teams we have played will be anywhere near the top of the table come the end of the season, iv got a feeling we will get something out of tmws game which hopefully will kick start our season

My family live in Chesterfield and even I decided against it :o

I could have even got the bus to stop at the end of their street on the way to the ground.

However I am going in two weeks to the Rotherham game so the g/f can go shopping at Meadowhall while I am at football so it was the lesser of two evils at least I wont get as much grief after the Rotherham game.

My step brother is actually convinced they might beat us this time but they never do so it will be a draw.

It was said rather tongue in cheek though it's no more ridiculous than those predicting heavy wins for us. Btw, why not have a go at the 2 people who predicted a 4-1 Chesterfield victory?
