OT Kits..

OT Kits..

Postby Freez » Sat Aug 22, 2009 10:54 pm

Just watched MOTD and it struck me that the new Man City and Hull kits are both very smart and very retro. They are both designed and made by Umbro, and hark back to the late 60's in City's case and the late 70's in Hulls. Both reflect some of the history of the club and yet are made with modern materials.

Compare these with that abortion of a design made by the clueless Yanks at Nike for Manchester Untidy, bloody awful. Nike are bloody crap at designing, all of the recent ones at Theatre of Sheep have been a mess.

Just a thought!

There's a few good umbro kits about this season. The Sunderland one is quite retro too. Not too keen on West Ham's.

Worst kit this season is Spurs. Would have looked great if they'd made the yellow bits navy but how it is it just looks like it's got piss stains on it.

Just seen the Everton one, that is a retro attempt by Le Coq Sportif to recreate the mid 80's Hafnia sponsored kit worn by Reid/Richardson/Sheedy/Ratcliffe/Sharp.
Quite nice except they have overdone the white v neck bit!

As for Chelski, their home kit is very Gladiator/Robocop, but their away one is quite smart, blue/black hoops with yellow collar and stripes, sound sawful but looks ok, and thats Adidas!
