What was the general feeling towards their stadium in term of access, viewing, facilities etc etc etc?

It's been suggested that our new stadium has been modelled on theirs. If so could we do better or is it just what we need?

I went the last time we played their In the Conf and have to say it seemed souless to me. Very sterile and without atmosphere.

Good viewing, no restricted parts. Some may not like the fact that you view from a lower level though, it's stands are not as high (or don't appear to be).

Food and access were good, although the food bit may be half as much to do with suppliers.

I wouldn't be unhappy if ours resembled that ground, although the singers would have to sing up because apparently we couldn't be heard yesterday

I think almost all smaller new stadiums are a bit soleless but you have to remember you were in the away end which I personally think is very good for away fans. Our new stadium home end is going to hold twice as many as the away end so I presume will be slightly larger (higher). Overall though I think it will be very similar to Burtons stadium in size, capacity, banqueting facilities etc but ours will have extra community pitches and other avenues of generating that all needed extra revenue and overall will be very good for the long term future of football in Morecambe.

The Pirelli has a capacity of 6350 and, although not full yesterday, looked quite busy with not too many obvious spaces in the home ends. The official attendance was 2742 so where would the other 3608 people have squeezed into?

the stand behind the goal (home fans) had quite a few spaces also space in the corners and empty seats at least having a small ground if the gate is low at does not look as bad as say Darlington playing in from if 2.300 yeturday

Another 800-1000 in the away end for a start off....believe it or not.

Capacity is actually 6,912

Ok it was increased in July, so where would the other 4170 people have squeezed into even allowing for the corners and the away end

I was talking to a few staff after the game and we mentioned capacity. I commented that it looked just over half full but they said not. When it's full they are crammed in, not much room to move.

terracing not high enough & i found the barriers you lean on to be nearly parralell to the step you were standing on so you couldn't actually "lean" against it.it was level to were you were standing (if that makes sense lol)

You mean the top of the barrier was higher than your elbows if you folded your arms?

also the top box section was bolted to the inside of the uprights rather than being welded/bolted on top of the upright

I thought the stadium looked good, the access was good, the exposed brickwork was a bit austere - I know it will cost more, but could we plaster it?
The pitch looked about the same size as ours currently but the stands are too low.
I initially didn`t know the capacity of their ground and thought it was about 4500 ish, when I was told it was about the same as our new one - I too thought, Where are the rest of the crowd supposed to stand/sit?
I`m guessing the amount of and size of the exits dictate to a certain degree, how "crammed" the people are inside the stadium.
One thing I did pick up on though (Swids) is the goal celebration tune - man, that was loud - and good too - it got me bloody annoyed every time I heard it! - and if that was their intention - IT WORKED! - maybe we should have the same?

Not up to me, even the fans are divided on this when it gets mentioned. The majority thought it is cheesy the last time we debated it on here. Personally I am open to persuasion but I dont think you can beat the North Stand roar when we score and a 'celebration tune' could drown that out!

IMO that song when they scored came across as an imitation of the fans as maybe they don't make enough noise when they score. They certainly didn't the rest of the game. I dislike that song though and don't think it should be used as a celebration, only for belittling opponents

I understand that the height of the North Stand at CP is circa 16mtrs and that the new home stand is based on the current North Stand, albeit a new purpose built structure.

I'm also lead to believe that our existing floodlights have been provisionally sold to Garstang FC.

I seem remember that, early doors, there were some sound engineers down in front of the North Stand measuring acoustics during a game, if I remember rightly it was said at the time so they could replicate for atmosphere.

I thought the distance from the box to the touch-line was more than usual.
I also found it difficult to make out the colour of Duffy's hair, which suggests [to me] that the overall size of the playing area is fairly close to maximum.
