apart from the predictable from Ned, as he comes on to gloat about how 'told you so', what happens next? An important game on Tuesday evening now, what will we do? How did we turn it around after Christmas last season? More to the point, can we do that again this season without waiting until Christmas? Ten conceded in two games should make it clear where the problem is, yet this is where we all thought we'd strengthened?

We could start by allowing players to get used to certain positions. 3 games played and we've had a different team and formation in each. Duffy going and getting himself a 3 match ban has further complicated matters. Still, I do find our defensive problems a little puzzling, given our squad is jam packed with them! 5 defenders started today's game. A further 3 central defenders were on the bench and Parrish didn't even get in the 18. If anything, Sammy's left us very short on numbers in the striking department. A squad which boasts 9 defenders should not be conceding 12 goals in 3 games which leads me to wonder if there's a serious flaw in the coaching...

Set pieces are a problem but it's a unit problem. Not a lot on the bench for him to do much. He's absolutely furious, never heard him like that ever1 i'd hate to be in that coach coming back or in the dressing room.

Next 2 games are Barnet and Macclesfield. Two other teams with only a point after 2 games. We need to be picking up some points here to get our season going.

Yes the defensive situation is very puzzling given we were fairly miserly towards the end of last season and you would think the new signings would have strengthened us in that department.
Could well be down to the fact that even in 3 games there has been a lot of chopping and changing. Now Jimbo is back I think Sammy needs to pick a backline and let them settle.

Neither is good enough and McLatchlan is out for the season anyway.

Mark Hudson who trialled for us looked good in the McLatchlan position and he was released by Blackpool so lets hope Sammy can snap him up.

In the chat room I made the comment about Stanners sugar levels possibly being all over the place. I understand that Stanners is a diabetic which if his sugar levels were affected could explain his concentration lapses.

Next step will be the training pitch and i am sure that Sammy and Mark will certainly hammer a few home truths at them. Then we regroup for our next game on Tuesday. Siege mentality is required amongst the players and what odds Barnet get a hammering. Its early days yet but we dont want to start lagging behind other teams, a couple of wins and i am sure everything will start to look rosey in the garden once again

i dont think it had anything to do with that neil imho
not one of his better games to be honest
i wouldnt start second guessing medical conditions like that
pure and simple at fault for goal five and ive just seen him play far far better
for example our opening game when he came on...........

i just think its simples...... we need a holiding player to break up the opposition attacks and not get hysteircal or hissy about certain players in th eback line
however again imho i do think we have a great squad and one thats capable of playing a more direct system of four at the back and pursue it
but we need cover and a strong midfield 3
id like to see 4 1 3 2 and based onwos likely to be available

I've never been a fan of Adams some fans rate him others dont, im one of the latter. I think Jimbo has been out too long and should be slowly re-introduced to such an important position and also as captain. I also think in the long term McStay and Haining are our two centerbacks both are decent in the air and both have decent pace. I'd use Jimob in specific matches where the opposition have a huge aerial threat and other matches leave him out where teams break with pace.

On another note looking at other replies, Hunter may be the fresh legs to run around and break up play.....basically just being a pain in the arse to the opposition. Seems we need that extra energy in the middle of the park a job that is very under-appreciated by our own fans.

adams has been terrible for all 3 games we played this season, he looked alright against hereford but against preston and Burton he was shocking he deserves to be dropped...
