[quote="Christies Child"]....we have to go for the oppositions jugular when 2-1 up to kill the game by getting a 3rd.

Too often we sit back in the belief that we can hold out.

To be fair CC we nearly did get the 3rd goal on several occasions particularly with Wilson's great shot which I honestly thought was going in. It was just those last 7 or 8 minutes when we stood off them a little too much and paid the price. :(

We would have got a 3rd if it wasn't for that linesman he was just flag happy.

former Bull Craig Stanley scored.

Not the best looking footballer, he rushed towards the Hereford supporters enticing them to respond to his childish gestures. Had the authorities captured him on camera he might have been charged with an offence.

Having been the first game i attended in this new season i have too say i was very impressed. The new signings look to have quality and are very calm when they have the ball at their feet. I thought Craney was the most promising and his link up between Midfield and Attack is something that we have missed in the previous seasons. It's also undoubtable that Jevons will score goals, the diagonal runs he made opened space up for Twiss to run into or for him to run onto the ball. Wilson i found also had a good game, apart from the lack of much attacking mind. I found him in the first half just standing on the wing when Craney had the ball at feet. I just feel he should make a few more runs into the box. With the shooting we saw on Saturday i have no doubt he would score

It amused me how he cupped his hands behind his ears. No need for that surely, given the original size of said appendages?

Just watched the highlights and the first action is Hereford running on to us and our defence all at sea. Their first goal comes from exactly the same thing with Pugh making a run and we give him loads of space.

The 2nd one was down to Wilson to slow in getting back

I though that too, which is why I don't really go along with the 'sitting back' criticism.

For a good 15-20 mins after our second it seemed to me a question of not if we would go 3-1 up, but when. For that period we were encamped in their half, but the 3rd goal just never came. Then into the last 10 mins they make a couple of attacking substitutions and for the last five we are on the backfoot.
You can't continue to just dominate teams just because you want to!
I think you have to hold your hands up and say Hereford are a decent side and when they decide to go all out for a goal you are going to be pushed back. Looking at the goal on TV I would say there was an arguement for saying if anything we were a little overun at the back!

Anyone think Roche could have dived and got the ball before it got anywhere near Pugh , it was fairly obvious that there guy was looking for someone to pass across front of goal to.
