Atmosphere / Singers this season

Atmosphere / Singers this season

Postby Crooky MFC » Mon Aug 03, 2009 1:58 pm

I thought I would make a seperate thread relating to us generating a good atmosphere this season. As it's our final season at Christie, why not have it like the old days where we sang good songs, and sang throughout the 90 minutes (Hereford United away in the playoffs for example). Will we see the return of a few old faces at the top of the North Stand this season perhaps to help us younger ones along?

Come on lads, this isn't just another season, this is OUR season - The final season where we are going to be stood on that North Stand! Isn't it time we showed the team that we as fans are moving forward, like the club. The team deserves the North Stand at full voice throughout the season, bouncing around like the good old days.

Yeah as you guessed, I'm excited about Saturday - Let's get it rocking ... Spread the word, everyone bring an extra few mates with them to the game.

Come on you Shrimps !!!

'In over 20 years' experience of policing football matches at Premiership, Championship and International level, I'm not sure I have ever come across such passionate and enthusiastic support on a pound for pound basis'

That's what I mean, we need that on Saturday - Balloons & Confetti anyone ?

The atmosphere kicks off a few hours earlier in the York with the meet and greet curry night - all welcome.

We aim to give the Hereford lads and lasses a good Morecambe welcome - get them bladdered and unable to sing the next day (a cunning plan) :o

Carlisle Paul and me will be up on that North Stand for the first match of the season - let's hope everyone will get behind the lads, join in the singing and create a great end of era atmosphere.

Always say the same thing: Enjoy it. Enjoy being in League Two. Don't take it for granted. Get to some away games in some of the excellent stadiums you can visit at this level. And remember if it goes tits up 40 plus games is still a lot of footie to put it right as we found to our relief last season.

Craney and Jevons will do the biz. It's whether we can keep it tight at the back. But who cares? Get behind the lads and enjoy it for what it is.

Possibly for Jevons:

Jevons, wherever u may be,
You are the one we all came to see,
And we know your gonna make us all happy,
When Craney gets two and you bag 3!

Thoughts?

How about these

(To the tune of the old Ged Brannan song)
Will Haining, Haining,
He's married to Michelle Marsh,
His tackles will snap you in half,
Will Haining, Haining

(to the tune of the Liverpool Torres song)
Sammy & Mark wheeled and dealed, Jevons, Jevons,
He came on loan from Huddersfield, Jevons, Jevons,
He''ll score a goal with half a chance,
He makes the crowd sing and dance,
Super Phil Jevons, Morecambe's Number 10

(basically the Rooney song with his name swapped for Craney :))
I saw my mate the other day,
He said to me he saw the white Pele,
So I asked, who is he?
He goes by the name of Ian Craney,
Ian Craney, Ian Craney,
He goes by the name of Ian Craney.

I'd make these changes, first line could be abit of a tongue twister, so perhaps it could be ...

First line - He shows his magic upon the field, Jevons, Jevons
Last line - Phillip Jevons, Morecambes number 10

Good work, could be a hit :)
