Recommend a garage in Morecambe?

Recommend a garage in Morecambe?

Postby campdave » Tue Jul 21, 2009 7:19 am

It's about time I got new brake pads on the car (Citroen C3). Anyone care to recommend anyone local? I usually go to Station Garage in Caton, but it means bus journeys back to town and then back to pick up the car, so I'd like to try someone local. Any recommendations?

Either on White Lund or in town itself.

I assume you mean a garage that doesn't have about 3 girls on reception and charges about £60 per hour !

Volkstech on Whitefield Place off White Lund Road is very good. Although they specialise in repairing VW's , they repair all makes of car at very reasonable prices.

Correct - that's why it's not going to Wildings! Been stung there once before.

Don't Quick Fit in Lancaster fit brake pads? Also you can ring for a price beforehand and book the car in.

You usually can wait around till they've finished or even have a stroll into the City and have a coffee somewhere.

I use Wynterdyne Garage back of alexander road/battery 414294 been going to him for about 10 years and never had a problem and he is spot on but you will have to book a few days ahead.

Otherwise Westgate tyres do break pads and you can probably just turn up.

I always used the one across from The Big Breakfast on White Lund, not sure if that is Westgate Tyres. They are always helpful and quick.

This is my uncles garage so I also would suggest this

M.O.T testing Centre - 01524 33387

Westgate tyres is a different company next to flowers direct.

Best place to go is Lookers (Bill) right next to Ken Allens, professional, reasonable AND he's a Morecambe fan.

Last time but 1 I was home I bought a car,
250 quid only needed it for 4 weeks, cheaper than hiring a car.
Did 2000 miles in it,
Sold it for 100 quid.
Needed brake pads, got them all done for 25 quid cash.
Best car I ever owned. 8-)

I have bene offered the stainless steel one before and thought it was great value for money as you get a lifetime guarantee but I wasn't intending on keeping my car that long.

Thanks for the advice folks - will probably take it to Westgate Tyres, as it needs a new tyre as well. Wasn't aware they did brakes etc.

Its a bit pointless though paying more for your exhaust than what your car's worth . :o
