O/T Just for fun

O/T Just for fun

I have a total of 5 mind teasers I will start with an easy one, if your planning to cheat then don't respond

1st...

You have two buckets - one holds exactly 5 gallons and the other 3 gallons. How can you measure 4 gallons of water into the 5 gallon bucket?

(Assume you have an unlimited supply of water and that there are no measurement markings of any kind on the buckets.)

Tip: there are 2 different ways

Seen this in Die Hard. Not sure if its the same way they used to solve the puzzle.

Fill the 3 gallon bucket

Pour the contents into the 5 gallon bucket

Fill the 3 gallon bucket again

Fill the 5 gallon bucket with the water in the 3 gallon bucket. This should leave 1 gallon in the 3 gallon bucket.

Empty the 5 gallon bucket.

Transfer the remaining 1 gallon from the 3 gallon bucket into the 5 gallon bucket.

Fill up the 3 gallon bucket again, then pour the entire amount into the 5 gallon bucket leaving exactly 4 gallons.

The other way is to fill up the 5 gallon bucket

Fill the 3 gallon bucket with the water from the 5 gallon bucket which will leave 2 gallons in the 5 gallon bucket.

Empty the 3 gallons bucket then pour the remaining 2 gallons from the 5 gallon bucket into the 3 gallon bucket.

Fill up the 5 gallon bucket again, then pour 1 gallon into the 3 gallon bucket (filling the 3 gallon bucket).

This should leave exactly 4 gallons in the 5 gallon bucket 8-)

Naaa, it's four, because there is an "R" in three, which would make four "R"s

Yep good one - last letters of one, two, three, four, five and six so the answer is, as hinted, 'n' and 't'.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

4.

A spy needs to infiltrate the Klu Klux Klan. To do so, not only must he dress as them, but he
must learn the secret password. So, he hides out near by and listens as people enter.

A man shows up, the doorman says Five, the man replies Four and is let in. A second man

shows up, the doorman says Six and the man says Three ad is let in. Another man appears

the doorman says Four and the man replies Four and is let in.

Now it is the spies turn. He approaches the doorman, the doorman says Seven, What should

he answer to gain entry?
