If it is your own car you can't claim your petrol for driving to home or to work, its not classed as business.
If it is a Company Car you can opt to pay tax on private mileage or pay for your own. This all used to be a simple calculation but like everything else this government seems to do they make it complicated and charge you according to CO2's etc etc etc In other words a Company Car is now more of a burden than a perk
