Maybe the club aren't bothering to advertise because its a friendly.
We will get thumpd like we did against Wolves and Incey a few years back.
The game will have about 22/23 players playing for Morecambe and if newcomers see a game like that they will not really like it.
Leave the club alone, the next few games are for the team not the fans.

And who helps pay the team wages ?????.
Surely it doesnt matter whether its a friendly, league or cup game , the important thing is revenue at every possible opportunity.

are the Aussie media still moaning about the English sportsmanship in slowing the play down and reducing the overs for Monty and Anderson to face ?

They seem to conveniently forget the famous incident when NewZealand needed a 6 off the last ball to draw a ODI with Australia and Trevor Chappell bowled an underarm delivery that obviously couldn't be hit for 6 !

Cant say im all that hopeful about tonight even if we had a full strength team to put out but without Bentley and Wainwright, plus no Howe and OCarroll then a difficult night should be in prospect.

Having said that it says on the official site that we are going to sign a left sided player today who can play in midfield or defence so that adds a bit of interest.

Yes it's nice to have a laugh when we 'beat' higher league teams but it's all pretty irrelevant.

Tonight is about testing out one or two players' fitness, having a look at a few triallists perhaps and giving others a run-out pre-season.

I'm sure in seasons gone by we have had a good set of friendly results and then a disappointing start to the season, and vice-versa. Who is going to care about our friendly results once we are 45 mins into the new season?
(Apart from possibly Ned coming on here tomorrow pointing out our worrying deficiencies after getting beat by those Premiership no-hopers )

Take them for what they are; a training exercise for the players and a football fix for the fans, with the added opportunity of checking out any new players.

I have been watching football for far too many years to be fooled by pre season friendlies, knocking on a bit now . I was basically referring to our chances in this match regarding the article that Marky had put the link to.

Its very difficult to asses how well the team is doing when we play teams from above or below us in the football pyramid. Its not until you have played several games against teams in your own league that you can fairly form an opinion on how the season will turn out.

Looking forward to tonight though regardless of the result, its always interesting when there are several trialists taking part.
