Although coming towards the end of his footballing career at 34 he is one hell of a proven goal scorer at our level and one I would be happy to see at Morecambe and is also a free agent after being released by Notts County. Just the experience we need for Aaron. 35 goals in 90 games for Lincoln in 2005/6-2008 including 3 hat tricks + 8 in 21 games for County is not a bad acheivement for any striker. I remember seeing him play at Lincoln and he tore defences apart and the fans worshiped him. Was offered a 12mth extention to his contract at Lincoln but turned it down to join County. Wonder if he has regrets now?

and has his own football academy for kids. 10/10 to the bloke

Might just be worth a tickle if his wage demands aren't too bad. I remember him from the FA youth cup side he was in a few years back. A player who never quite reached his potential on a consistent basis, who is clearly looking to the future with his academy, so presumably a decent bloke.

Get him and Mullin from Stanley, both on 12 month possibly 2 year contracts and i think we would have a hell of an attack. An old one though but we would score some goals.

Forrester hasn't impressed me last few times I've seen him. Give Wayne a start up front every week and he'd get 12-15 a season, as would Aaron I reckon.

Naah. If we can't get someone more exciting than that, I'd get a couple of loanees.

I think , given glens inside knowledge, we are being cryptically told the strikers we have are the ones we will have :?: :?:

Sorry but we do not have one player in our first team squad currently capable of 12-15 this year or any year. Yes Taylor is coming on ok and i am not a Curtis fan but i can see that he still does do a job for us and although they both have an eye for goal i sadly firmly believe that neither will hit over 10 this year.

Sammy better have a good couple of front men on trial or Jimbo and Drummond will be our top marksmen this year... I do agree however that Forester isn't worth the gamble now and it looks like a higher league raw talent or two on loan may be the best bet.

No - we're still looking to bring in two strikers.

We've had a couple on trial but I don't think they'll end up being signed because, as I say, I don't think they are any better than Wayne, Twissy and Aaron.

And I stick by what I say. If Wayne and Aaron were played up front every game, I think they'd get 12-15 each. But we'd probably struggle in a lot of those games because they wouldn't occupy their defenders enough (like Rene did IMO).

Aaron has a reasonable goals to games ratio even though a lot were off the bench. Wayne always chips in but rarely gets a start as a striker. (Twissy hasn't really been on his game but I hope he can have one last fling before his contract runs out).

Don't get me wrong I still think we need more quality up front but I was using those two as an example of why I don't think we should just sign a striker for the sake of it.

I think the players who are trying out with us are also from Div Two sides, released. I don't think they'll get taken on and will have to look at the Conf - likewise we may get to hear of players who've done the same after being released by Div One clubs and are, at the moment, on trial with other Div One clubs.

If not I still reckon a couple of loans would be better than panicking and signing someone on a two-year contract who is not much (if any) better than what we've got.

The only other way is, of course, to stump up big money to try to get someone but guaranteed quality doesn't come cheap and there aren't loads about. Benson - D&R would want £150,000 is one quote I'ver heard recently (not our enquiry BTW).

Oh good. Don't get me wrong i still see use for Aaron and Waynealdo however we MUST get someone in. Preferably someone quick as we have little pace in the squad and we need somebody to occupy defences as you said.

Although i am like many growing frustrated at the lack of activity i do also agree that as long as we get someone with something more to add to the squad, it will be better than rushing into deals for players that wont offer that much for us. Like i feel the case was with the signings last summer, of whom only Barry and Parrish are left!

Sounds like there is plenty going on behind the scenes. Like you have said - no point signing players who aren't better than what we've got, so we need to have patience.
