I'm popping back from Preston today and was going to call into the shop at some point. Very disappointed to hear that.

As far as I recall, the club shop has never opened regularly on a Saturday except 10:30 to 3:00 on matchdays. Last Saturday, when the shop was "unofficially" open for a few hours, it sounded to me like it was only because photographs were being taken of the new gear for publicity reasons. I agree that it would be more convenient for some of us to have the opportunity to visit the shop on Saturdays, but for now it seems we may have to make do with it being open during the week between 9:00 and 5:00.

Its beyond me when on a saturday, possibly the busiest day of the week that the club shop is closed, seems rather stupid to me.

Not open regular during week either!

I went down on Friday during the day and it was all locked up. BUT, there is a notice which says if shut go to the office, Only problem at the time was the office was shut as well :!:

Politely suggest it to them, then, the next time you're able to call in! ;)

It was certainly open in the afternoon.

The thing is though surely when its near to the start of a season and all the new gear is in the shop you would think it would be open on a saturday.

it sounded to me like it was only because photographs were being taken of the new gear for publicity reasons.

Publicity? You'll find the photos on the club shop site for online buyers.

To be honest, I daresay it is because of staffing issues. There's only one or 2 who work in there I think, so to expect them to work a 6 day week is a bit much. Similarly, they'd have to justify employing someone else. Perhaps Saturday trade wouldn't justify it.

Try phoning them, i am sure they can help, even with a mousemat that does exist.

I tried phoning today as I wanted to buy a shirt. No answer.

I went down to see if there was anyone there. No.

I work Monday to Friday, as do many other people. Saturday is a great day to go down and hand over cash.

Maybe they should consider closing on a Weds maybe and opening on a Saturday instead?

Yes, I work 9:00 to 5:00 week days. Travelled especially to get my pre-season ticket, season ticket and new shirt yesterday, thinking the shop 'd be open for a couple of hours sometime on the Saturday before the start of pre-season. No :( . Note on the door saying, If closed go to office': Shut :( . Whilst I was there 3 other people turned up to be disappointed.

The shop opening hours aren't even given on the official Club Shop webpage or website, just on the shut shop door with an alternative that didn't work :( . Definately room for improvement.

if there are not enough staff to run the shop when people are wanting to go why don't the club take on a few more people then they could have better opening hours and open at weekends as well
