It appears Matthew Blinkhorn has signed for my team Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland and I was just wondering if ye could give me some info on him e.g how good he is etc.

Thanks.

Pros:- Hard working, holds the ball up well.

Cons:- Didn't score enough in the football league (although he did get plenty in the Football Conference for us when on loan from Blackpool). Injury prone.

Don't know how the standard of the LOI equates to English football but that could be critical in how he performs for you (as per the above).

Not according to a post on your Footie Forum!

"Blinkhorn was in mooneys last night. He said he hasn't signed.

Negotiations are ongoing I hear but the 3 ****heads outside mooneys were trying their best to move things along and get him signed "

Excellent loan spell with us with bags of goals but never really followed that up after signing. In the Conference defenders gave him more room, particularly against the poor side he faced on loan, but couldn't get that in the Football League and struggled. Plays like the ball is tied to his foot problem is the string is 30 foot long. Controls a ball very well with his upper body and has a decent head but his first touch is lacking. Has also had long spells out with injury which meant we couldn't get any consistency.

Say hello to Hardigans for me. I believe its re-opened. A crime it ever shut.

Is Nick Leeson, aka Barings, still your Commercial Director?

He was Commercial Manager of Galway United Football Club he rose to the position of General Manager in late November 2005. By July 2007 he had become the club's CEO.
