Training update Tuesday 7 July

Training update Tuesday 7 July

Postby Christies Child » Tue Jul 07, 2009 6:29 pm

On a rather soggy training ground 22 players were put through their paces by Mark Lillis and Dickie Danson, watched under the supervisory eye of Sammy McIlroy.

The entire squad was present although Jimbo and Neil W didn't get involved in some of the action as they were being given special attention by one of the club doctors.

At least 3 trialists were present, but unfortunately I haven't a clue who they are. We'll no doubt find out in due course.

It was a double session again today with more to follow this week.

Had a quick word with Sammy just to make sure that he had no objections to me being there and Jimbo was in his usual friendly 'good to see ya fella' form. He did say that he had got me a step ladder...not sure what he meant! :o

Mark Lillis was wearing a very trendy flat cap which complimented his bright red track top.

The condition of all the squad looked to be excellent and it looks as though MrT has lost a lot of weight. A leaner and meaner Michael? Let's hope so...

Unless he's had a close crop haircut, the answer is possibly no!

Ok all you anoraks, see if you know which club one of the trialists belongs to.

His training kit from his previous club (I assume) is made by Vandonel. The team badge appears to be based around the letter M. Kit colour is dark blue and black. I thought possibly Wigan but probably wrong.

No!

The M is more stylised (almost like a couple of inverted A's laying one over the top of the other and filled in) in the centre surrounded by the name of the club (I assume)

On reflection the training gear was dark blue with vivid blue edgings and along where the sleeves join the actual body of the training top.

Port Vale training kit for me.

I think the style of the kit is more to do with Vandanel than the actual club because Napoli have similar training kits unless he's one of theirs of course :o :o :o

Trying to find out who was released by Torquay or has refused a new contract, is like trying to find a needle in a haystack!
