My first ever Morecambe game was the Lancashire Senior Cup Final against Burnley at Christie Park in 1968 when we beat them 2-1, although at age 8 I can only remember snippets of the game. Moved to Burnley in 1978 with work and being in a minority of one or two Morecambe fans in that area I've always enjoyed the banter with Burnley fans. One things for sure and that is that at one time we were dismissed as non league non-entities and nowadays we get a lot more respect from them!

Theres no doubt about it that the interest in Burnley in the area is now bordering on the fanatical and if they do make a couple of big signings between now and then they could come over in big numbers to watch, particularly if it's their first opportunity to see the new players. Hopefully by then we'll have a couple of new signings ourselves to peruse! Very good move to arrange that friendly. :D

One of my long lasting memories that Lancashire Cup Final !! How could those of us that were there ever forget! :D :D

As for age at the time I'd rather not think about it!
