Appropriately back to the subject of spoilt ballot papers. Thanks for that JJF.

What a political dipstick

MEPs are elected under a proportional representation system. In Britain, you have one vote to elect all of your MEPs. Each party puts forward a list of candidates, called a regional list, and you vote for one of these lists or for an independent candidate. The parties are then allocated a number of MEPs according to their share of the vote.

I was advised on good authority that I had three votes by one of my Councillor Collegues, now he should be aware.

Maybe, just maybe, you should question this "good authority" a bit more. Ever wondered whether you were being spun a yarn or led down a very very long garden path????

Bravo for that.
You are passionate about Morecambe.
You obviously have plenty of time for hobbies.
So why haven't you had a go at being on the Local Council?
Please don't take this as any sort of criticism ;)

Peter, weekdays I only have the evenings to spare and frequently those are in hotels around the country. Weekends I spend a lot of time on saturdays with football so Sunday I look forward to time with my partner whose shift patterns often mean we see little of each other. Maybe when I retire I'll get stuck in, until then they'll just have to put up with me as a pain in the arse.

Here's something else to think about.

A lot of people are disgusted/outraged/etc that we've probably lost about £1,000,000 in the Icelandic banking system.

The MBIs keeping The Dome open and their push for a local town council is costing us at least half a million every year The Dome stays open.

The people that vote for the MBIs, I wonder if they would invest their money in Iceland?

Few would argue

I am looking forward to the first meeting of The New Town Council. I believe, so I have been told so therefore it might not be Gospel as yest that Evelyn is paying for a buffet and wine as a celebration for the New Town Councillors along with other members of The Morecambe Bay Independent Party card carriers--The event will apparently be on June 18th at Morecambe Town Hall. At the end of the day it is vital these new Town Councillors are rewarded for thier efforts and hard work in order to encourage them to keep up the good work thier have archived.
I think the Town Council should pay for sandwitches at the meetings like the City Council do.

Thats probably the biggest decision they will get to make in the next 12 months. Do we have sausage rolls or cheese on sticks? This is a Parish Council for goodness sake. A very expensive and over hyped one, but they are on a par with a villiage parish council when it comes to the 'power' they crave. Think of Vicar of Dibley.

My whole objection to this is that it is a hugely expensive toothless tiger.

a private political gathering using council facilities in a bulding they have ignored for the town clerk. Just about sums up the position of the MBIs. We shouls be charfing them room hire plus catering.

Elected by the people
The people of Morecambe wanted the Town Council and those Councillors have delivered effectively so therefore we deserve a few perks dont you agree.

I don't think the Town Council has delivered anything yet - not sure why they need us to pay for a celebratory buffet already

The election promise of no expenses didn't last long, did it? No, I don't agree they deserve any perks. Just proves they've done it entirely for themselves yet all it gives them the power to do is pick up dog shit off the beach. Let's see if they;'re even capable of that

Dear Evelyn Archer,

I do hope one day you register and join in these discussions. After all, you spend enough time reading and quoting from them, they are about you and we won't mind if you take the time to reply. Unless, of course, everything being said is true in which case you can stay anonymous. That reminds me, remember when you called me a coward for remaining anonymous? Double standards, is that typical of an MBI?

Would you mind asking your conspirator, Lady Ashworth, to reply to the correspondance from her constituents. After all, you are the party of the people. Or do you carefully choose the people you represent and ignore the ones that ask real questions?

Yours,

Gnasher

Brian - just thinking aloud.
Perhaps the lack of response to your letters could be due to what the recipent might consider to be aggressive content, which if replied to would only be picked up on by you for even greater aggressive scribbling.

Peter, more correpondance than repeated on here has been sent to various local politicians, all polite and asking genuine questions. One in particular was the same content, same questions. All but MBIs replied to them. Judge that however you want.

Is Archer paying the electric bill for the lighting? Is Archer paying for room hire? Is Archer paying the overtime bill for the caretaker that opens & locks up for them?

All costs that local rate payers would be expected to pay if they wanted the use of a town hall room.

I may yet be back in time on the 18th, open to all. I wonder if the only non-MBI member will put a proposal forward on my behalf to demolish the WG  Good to see John in there, a regular main stand'er ;)

Time for me to back off this subject on the forum, I'm sure it's winding a few people up with it constantly on the main page. The campaign will continue by PM :D
