Twenty20 is a great leveller. Aggers said in his blog only yesterday that there would be upsets. He was right.

It's quick and easy to have a go at our team but I'd rather heap praise on the Dutch. The last few overs we're extremely tense yet 2 middle order batsmen held their own against the "might" of England at the home of cricket. Well done them.

There's always the football...

I am sorry callum - but England were dreadful maybe we should have picked the lancashire team instead (played 6 games in 20/20 this year and won all 6)

I only managed to catch the first 10 overs on tv but then had to listen to the radio. The way I heard it was that we were dreadful but they took advantage of it. We were dreadful and I agree with you but fair play to them I say.

But how many times have Lancashire scored over 170 this season in the Twenty20? Not once.

English cricket is set up for the pinnacle form of the game. Luke Wright thought that 160 was a good score today before SA reserves stepped up. Just goes to show, that despite creating this format of the game we do not have a clue. Not one 6 in the innings.

Twenty20 is a bit of fun, the moment you start labelling sides a disgrace for not winning and taking it seriously is the same time you miss the point of this form of the game. It's a bit of fun.

Major upsets happen all the time in sport.

It's what we hope for in the FA Cup isn't it?

England may have been poor, but the Dutch still had to win it so you have to praise them for that. I think "A Disgrace" is a little over-reaction in what is afterall, a lightweight, but fun form of the game.

The current Lancs team would have hammered Holland. Trouble is Prince and Du Plesis wouldn't have been eligible being South African. Even without them Lancs could have put up a better show than a very lack lustre England! Some very good young players coming through the ranks at Lancs backed up by the old guard such as Keedy, Chapple and Chilton.

Why didnt Broad hold onto the ball and ensure we got a point out of it with a tie ?

To provide a bit of realism in this thread, England have had the West Indies by the throat so far this spring and have beaten them pretty much every time we've played them (including in the Twenty20 warm-up the other day). Today, the West Indies totally annihilated Australia. Yet more proof that neither form nor reputation matter in this form of the game. That's what makes it so exciting.

I reckon Broad probably thought 'I'm in a professional cricket team, they surely know how to back up'.

Sadly he was wrong.

I remember us losing to New Zealand in a similar way last year, it is frustrating but I'd rather go for the win anyway.

Don't get me wrong losing to the Dutch was not good at all.

But as Callum says i'd rather congratulate the dutch for a great performance.

Depending on which Pakistan side turns up we still have a chance of making it into the next round.

I'd much rather have the Ashes though and sack the 20/20 off.

This 20/20 shite should be a different sport.
Cricket is an odd name itself.
So why not call this stupid game SLOGGIT?

Hmmm, just how upset will the Aussies be at going out? They now have nearly a full month to get ready for the ashes, giving them time to go around the country and see all the test venues in action. On the down side as RP said the are now going to Leicester, which is unfair on anybody.
