theres a lot of talk about the board, re what they do and dont do about the current situation

there previously had been lots of comments statements from the likes of james, charlie and other board members very silently going about there business
i believe there is a embargo upon them that means they are not aloud to discuss the sale
however why are they not ? what have they to lose in speaking openly and freely why dont they resign
out of principle of how everything is being handled ? why has no general manager been appointed ?
who is steering this ship ?
surely they cant keep sitting there saying we are not allowed to discuss, have the courage to speak up or have the courage to walk away and make the owner take the full responsibility of day to day running
i for one as a season ticket holder of many many years have given up now

I too have given up with it all. I didn't renew my season ticket. I'm tired of it all it's dragged on for far too long now. Possibly in the future when and if the club is sold and new owners invest in the squad, I will again purchase a season ticket.

The whole of football is run like a business, it’s not been the fans game for years. If you get a bad owner what can you do?

Well if you go to a shop and are ripped off or get terrible service you don’t go again, you go elsewhere or do without. Football fans are a different breed always have been always will, as long as the Club goes on you turn up, no matter what.

The silence from the BoD’s is maddening but it is nothing to how the owner of the Club treats the Club and its fans. What situation would we be without our BOD’s? I hate to think! I still have hope that the Clubs situation and position will change and as a fan without doing something to rash that will hurt the Club further the best thing is to turn up and support the team.

Oh and keep buying that Lottery Ticket!

How long before some fans start protesting on the pitch?

If any fans do this, at this moment in time, they should be given life-time bans. If we managed to struggle through this seaon, and would have finished third from bottom, but are relegated because of a points deduction after a pitch invasion, they should never be called Morecambe "fans" or "supporters" as they are nothing of the kind.

If, for example, at the end of January, we're cut adrift, possibly with other points deductions, etcetera, then perhaps, there will be a time for such protests, but nowhere near that at the moment.

The only reason we're still afloat is because of our Board of Directors. If they resign, we go under. "The courage to walk away" would, in my opinion, actually be, 'the courage to kill the club off'. You only need to look at Worcester Warriors to see that our owners have no concern about whether we live or die.

If the Board of Directors resign, that really would signal the end. On the plus side, The Isle of Man FC play in the North West Counties Premier Division, so I might get to see Morecambe playing on the Island?

IOM FC had a really enjoyable day at Longridge on Saturday, both on the pitch and the hospitality afforded by Longridge FC. I really enjoyed out day pre-season at Longridge too.

I now live about 100 metres from Padiham FC so it would be nearly as quick to get there as when I used to live across the road from the turnstiles at Crusty Pie. To be fair most of these smaller clubs have very good social clubs and you can sit with a pint watching the game. I went to watch Lancaster (wash my mouth out) at the Padiham Arbories several seasons ago. Only because the legend that is Danny Carlton was playing for them. Was sad to see the whippet he used to be replaced with a much slower version with a noticeably large tummy! LOL. Too many visits to the York Hotel no doubt.

I've was there! After our friendly we have been back a few times this season it's a great little club. We went to the Bury game the other week which was a sell out but for such a small setup they were so organised and their electronic ticketing system it better than ours!! No queues at the Bar and they even built a temporary bar to make sure they profited as much as they could. All run by a committee and great organisation we should send someone to learn some lessons!and they don't sell out of pies!!

Because I bought a ticket for the Bury game this then entitled me to free entry for the IOM game. IOM must have brought just under 100 and their support was great, flags, drums etc apparently they got the 9am ferry to Heysham coach to Longridge and then coach to L'pool guy I spoke to said he would be home for 10pm!! We have longer away trips down south!

I've also done a lot of ground hopping this season and it's great fun going to these small places and like you said the social side is brilliant, people just tend to go have a couple of pints and a chat with their mates and watch some football. I had become a bit disillusioned over the past few years with the way football has gone it seems mad that to run a league 2 club you really need to be a millionaire.

Longridge are away at Lower Breck Thursday night think I might go as they play across the road from Anfield so can show the lad Anfield while we are there.

Without the loyalty shown every day by our BoDs who like us all love our club I dread to think where we would be without their continued service.

Any talk that discredits what they have to put with on a daily basis is totally wrong.

If those who are unhappy with their lack of openness as I have been from time to time need to realize just what a difficult job they have in face of such a negative owner need to put themselves in their position and voice their concerns and frustrations in the right direction....

I for one regret some of my comments in the past but can now see and understand what a horrendous position they find themselves helpless to alter the situation other than remain loyal to our and their club despite the lack of leadership from the owner.

It might be an idea to discuss what questions we want to be asked on our behalf? If we can get some hard hitting questions together rather than bombard the Trust with lots of poorer questions.

I’ve just read the Trust update which includes the sale progress/lack of progress.

It seems there was a meeting this last week with the EFL and no new comments can be made at this time.

The BoD’s have stated the sale progress is ongoing and parties involved have asked for details to remain confidential.

The EFL issued a stat mate saying, there is little in the way of update it can offer in an ongoing acquisition of a Club other than to say the EFL remains actively engaged.

The Trust is not privy to who the prospective buyer is but have asked them to reach out to the Shrimps Trust when they are ready to do so.

Groundhog Day really, what ever the hold up is it has not been resolved yet to satisfy the EFL, frustration for everybody, is as far as I will go.

As others have said I have also been critical of the situation and of some of the parties involved, so I ask myself is that a good thing that the prospective buyer is still engaging in buying the Club?

Just an idea

1) Is it Jason’s and the Boards priority to stay in League Two? and therefore, if/when the sale goes through, the new owners actually acquire a football league club and not a non league club?

2) In relation to question 1, where will the money go from the EFL Trophy wins and the FA Cup? Is it up to Jason or does the Board have discretion to hand it all to Derek to dabble in the market in the January window?

3) If the sale of the club is not resolved soon, (before the end of the season!), has Jason indicated if the sale of the club will be affected if Morecambe FC is relegated out of the Football League?

4) Can the BoD’s give any type of assurances that the financial side of the club is going OK and if so, there is no prospect of a renewed failure to pay the players wages?

Am I reading too much into this but no Directors on the last two podcasts !, these little things start making you (me anyway) think !.maybe they have nothing to report or still under a gagging order but the reassurance of them making an appearance is at least something !!!
