New player of Akinde?

New player of Akinde?

Postby redrobo » Sat Oct 19, 2024 6:56 pm

Prior to the game and before our squad went through it's pre match routine there was a player going through a specific routine with one of our backroom staff circa 1.45 /2.00pm

Not sure who he was. He had dreadlocks and the only player I can recall in our club who has deadlocks is Saul Fox Akinde who I posted recently about his non appearance to date.

Maybe it was Saul OR even a new unattached player yet to be announced.

Anybody any ideas.... :?: :?: :?:

It was Saul. This lad can play, he's had praise higher than Adam did - look what happened there! ... Can't hurt rolling the dice, can it? He can run in a straight line so would get in the team.

Has he be injured? If not, I'm surprised he hasn't at least been on the bench. Same with the lad who scored on his debut last season (forgot his name!) I don't think we've seen him since either.

So how did that work out then?

Adam Fairclough, 17 year old. Perhaps he thinks he's too young but he showed he could hold his own.

Adams and youth don't mix, never have and will be linked to why Drummond no longer works at the club.

He has had quite a few youngsters on loan in his different spells at Morecambe FC. For what ever reason monetary or otherwise he has only brought in the Liverpool lad and that was because of injury to our defender in the first game.
Just think where we would be if we had those 5 young lads from last year.
I remember he said he wanted experience this year, but quality is possibly the better route where it is possible, it seems to me it was more than likely not affordable within the budget Derek was handed this season.

You can't say that. It was DA that brought Carlos in from the cold after he was barely played by Jim. It was DA that brought in Mayor. The reality is that youngsters can, and do, make mistakes - a couple of youngsters brought in to the first team by Jim got sent off on their debuts! I trust DA to bring in the youngsters as and when they're ready and for the "right" game and time during the game.

Didn't a young lad get his league debut yesterday? This anti-Derek narrative is silly.

Agree.....BUT DA was in my opinion slow to change the players yesterday and when he did there was only 6 minutes left.....hardly time to get into the speed of the game. I was surprised how the management team seemed to accept defeat because DA and his assistant had possibly their quietest game from the touchline which is unlike our manager who normally is quite vocal.

Maybe they both felt that MK were far superior in almost all areas and from the touchline they could not alter the way MK controlled the game for the majority of the game.

MK played in a way that I found far superior to anything we have played to date and it will be interesting to see how Accy go on when they play them on Tuesday......maybe MK can do us a big favour and get the better of a very ordinary Accy.... :?: :?: :?:

So he did give a young lad his Football League debut yesterday after giving him his competative debut Vs Forest u21s? Is this before or after he had a fall out with his Assistant? Just speculative bollocks that doesn't do anybody any good

Certainly no fall out between DA and his Assistant from what I saw from my seat only a few yards away.Possibly a wee bit of frustration on the part of the Assistant but most certainly NO fall out. In fact they stood together and were in almost total communication for most of the time.

He worked really hard and was quick. Seems to have ability too. Probably a bit too early but could be the next one to get a regular place in the team or to be sold on like Leif and Mayor.

The only one not to congratulate young Snowball when he came off was.........the manager.... :( :o

All the others on the bench and players shook his hand and appeared to congratulate him on what was a good debut. :o

From the way DA treats Brown and others (what has happened to last seasons debut player at Swindon.... :?: ) is just another example of our manager's attitude at times to younger players.

I don't know in which direction you were looking in ...but I saw Derek speak to him to thank him for his contribution...you need to go to Specsavers... ;)

Shocking reply and shows that you clearly have an agenda against Derek.

Derek hugged the lad after he came off and spoke highly of him in his interview afterwards. He also mentioned that he told the lad that he was in the squad so he could get his family at the game.

I was no more than 7metres away from the bench last night in clear view of actually what happened.....or didn't happen in this case.

The only player he congratulated was Hope when he was taken off.

I know what I saw and was surprised if not annoyed as the lack of recognition by DA.

And I strongly deny that I have an agenda against DA.....in fact quite the opposite. BUT that doesn't excuse him for his lack of recognition when Snowball came off.

You're reading far too much into this. For all we know, Derek could well have had the players give Snowball a standing ovation in the changing room after the game.

Really is a bit silly to get this worked up by such a tiny moment on the touchline while the match was still going on.

Moving onto more sensible discussions - it's hugely positive to see Snowball so comfortable last night. Hard to say how near/capable he is in terms of playing in the league, but given it's become clear that Adam Lewis is better suited to being further up the pitch, it'd be very handy to have another left back option beyond Tutonda.

I saw it from the back of the Halo, it clearly happened. Snowball left the pitch and then went over to Derek and they hugged. You have several agendas that change as often as the weather.

Posts like yours are inaccurate and dangerous.

I was in C Premier 7metres from DA and the bench....I know what I saw and what I DIDN'T see.

The Assistant Manager was the one who gave the new lad a hug....NOT DA...
