Is it up to the EFL? Surely both parties should approach the EFL with everything in order and ready to be checked by them?

The Efl can only say if a potential owner is fit and proper or not.
They can not force anyone to sell a club.

Exactly and they have said this on a number of occasions in relation to other clubs.

Jason has been talking about the sale and how hard it is to sell a Club where the fans are being negative about his ownership and at times nasty. Now being nasty is not right but we as fans have a right to criticise his ownership, like we do the manager and the players. He is aging one of the four buyers backed out because of the way fans have been.
The situation with the EFL and how far that has gone with papers that have gone in so far seems to be not moving forward.
Oh dear, it seems like we are stuck with him!! Perhaps he could be more humble if he still really wants to sell the Club.

1. It's not hard to sell the club is it ? You turned down an offer that was far more than the club was worth.
2. If its was any other club their fans would behave far worse towards you. Blaming Shrimps fans is laughable.

The guy is deluded. Shrimps fans are negative BECAUSE of Jason and the way he's running the club into the ground. There was massive optimism and a feel good factor around the club when we were promoted. He's thrown all that away with not paying wages, reducing the player's wage budget, not investing in the club, etc.

He should have sold when the club was at it's peak. The "value" fell when we were relegated to L2 and WILL fall again when we are relegated to National League. He's just "chasing" down his asset value and should have sold 2/3 years ago where he'd have got a much higher price.

Does anybody remember when Goldring gave an interview saying that they had turned down bids from a Canadian hedge fund? This was long before Johal reared his ugly head.

Ther was an article in the Daily Mail on Worcester Warriors and how they ended up going out of business.
Dated 20th Sept 2022.

Government-accused-aiding-asset-stripping-rugbys-crisis-club-Worcester-Warriors.

I’m sorry I’m not tech savvy enough to create a link but type in Daily Mail Worcester Warriors Sixways stadium and you should find it.

JW defends himself in the artic against what is being said within it.

Now JW might just have changed how he operates owing a sporting club after the Worcester Warriors debacle, I do hope so. I really do hope he has the interests of Morecambe FC at the forefront of his actions and that he sells the Club as a going concern soon.

I do however need to ask; Do you think it’s a good job the ground is protected by the trust/covenant on it.

Quite a bit of reading and reminders there.

The lifeline of our Club is very much down to the wisdom of JB Christie all those years ago for which we should be most grateful.

The site has been moved and adjusted once by suited legal people, I just hope the 'Trust' is watertight

We'd have ceased to exist without it. J.B.Christie saved us 100 years on.

I think the complete opposite to this is how he has been operating.

If the Clown is true to his word(more chance of platting piss) then we should be getting an update today should we not? If he goes back on his word, what should be done about it?

Call a meeting with the Trust as soon as possible at a neutral venue.

An organised, supporter led response that creates pressure on him by gaining some publicity. The man needs publically shaming for the contempt he shows to us as supporters and to the towns Football Club.

We could get Lizzi Collinge involved as well, it's the least she can do after voting to help freeze the old folk of the town to death!

Quote from Ms. Collinge last month -
“Teams like Morecambe FC need a strong regulatory framework to ensure owners are fit for purpose and that fans are properly engaged.
"I have joined the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Football Supporters and I am working with fellow MPs to push for our manifesto commitment of a new Independent Football Regulator to be put in place as soon as possible.
“Shrimps fans deserve to have a strong system that supports football at every league level and to be assured of the long term sustainability of local clubs.”

Be good if she could publically call out the owner of the club as well as calling for a regulator.
