Talking or lack of talking about the takeover......

The lack of news suggests that the last reported bid has been thrown out by the EFL or that there was no bid and that Jason is playing his now familiar mind games.....

There is a third possibility.......that the EFL are still waiting for more papers/evidence from the hopeful new owners (who I am convinced has some connection with the fizzy pop man). I seem to think it was quite a long time between the EFL asking for more until they rejected it last time. My guess is that they have rejected it already, in which case why can't we be told?

The ownership side of football really does stink.

We simply don’t know the truth and it seems like JW is a stranger to the truth, in fact he seems a pathological liar. His behaviour at Worcester Rugby Club and now the shrimps shows how he is not a fit and proper person to be involved in any business let alone a football club. Sadly if does sell the club we should have no confidence that a new owner will be suitable and a good owner. We realise we are in a grim situation. All we can do as fans is stick together, support the Trust and keep supporting the lads on the pitch. COYS.

I feel the club owe the fans a forum again. Only this time Jason and the entire board should attend. No ifs or buts

First 4 home games last season had a total attendance of 16.640
This season it's 9000 in 3 games. So you can see if we carry on we will be well down when the season ends.
Our current budget is lower than last seasons.
We don't have an Adam Mayor to sell this year.
Are we gonna be dependent on a cup run for a January budget or will it just be there to cover losses?
What happens if we have no cup run?
So many questions need answering.

If the gates are down as much Hodgie has observed, we will be about 1,000 down a match. Can Morecambe keep going all season if that is the case?

When the budget was set (same as a budget was last year, [larger]!!) does that take into account expectations of gate receipts? Uptake in Corporate? What happens if that level is not reached??

In his interview on the Radio (way back when!!), JW said failure to reached expected gate receipts left the Club with hitting revenue targets and with him having money flow problems, it left the Club missing a pay day. We know what happened then.

If we don’t get a good cup run are we in squeaky rear end zone again after Christmas.

Yep, last seasons tally included Bradford which would account for some of the loss, but the EFL bless them have given us that fixture on a Tuesday this season, cheers!

True but last season Notts County was on a Tuesday and we have them today so hopefully a few hundred more from them than last season. I can still see Bradford bringing round about a thousand so not a complete disaster.

With that limited budget that JW set the Club this season I am hearing that there are fears that money may well run out by early next year.

Has anybody else heard this? With the gates down it is plausible and that is a worry with what happened last year. It means we as a Club rely on the owner bailing out the Club all the time. In the end it weakens the Club month by month.

There is a train of thought that JW’s end game is for Morecambe FC to end up like Worcester Warriors Rugby Club. Am I wrong to worry?

I know I am just a little pleb of a supporter, but when NO INFORMATION (not even regular updates!) is forthcoming can fans be blamed for over thinking things.

I agree with Berlin Waller, we have been very patient and very loyal to the Club, we do in still relatively high numbers turn up and cheer on our team. A little change of fortune and with DA his team and the players, I believe will keep this team in the EFL.

With JW as our owner though, I’m not so sure.

Quick question; Is there any fan out there that has any faith in the Owner of Morecambe FC?

I really would like to hear why.

Where does Jason make his income from in 2024?
You can go on company house and see all his companies. I can't see anything of note.

Therefore he should accept a lower bid and at least get a million or two!

If you started a new conversation, just asking that question, I suspect it would be the loneliest thread in ShrimpsVoices history.

We need to start protesting again. Reading fans have managed to keep their plight in the news but we have taken our foot off Whittinghams neck.

The trust are doing their bit in trying to make contact with the snake but we all know how that goes. We need to keep shaming him in public, we need to keep his name out there.

I agree we need to do some more protests, Berlin Waller. Inside the ground would do our beloved club damage but outside…….? What could we do outside the ground to attract big publicity? A sit down protest on Westgate would probably upset the police. Has anyone any suggestion?

I have said before that JW will keep reducing the budget until we end up like WW, and then try to get his hands on the land. it was always the land he was after !

Yes Reading fans have kept it in the news but it hasn't got them anywhere. Their new buyer agreed a contract and passed the EFL fit and proper test but their owner has now refused to complete the deal

Trust email states Jason is working with the EFL to approve a suitable update. He's confirmed that a formal update will be coming early next week.

Technically this means tomorrow or Tuesday

Not very cynical.
He said on the 5th June the sale should be done in 10 to 14 days.
It's now 123 days and counting - 4 months!

He’s not interested in selling the club, but the EFL should be saying “you want to sell the club you’ve had a decent offer and the potential buyer has passed the checks, so why have you not sold the club.
What motives do you have for delaying the sale”

But they don’t step in
