I would drop Hope play slew up front and tollit on the wing.

I think that would be a direct swap, with Slew working as hard as Hope, but ultimately with little opportunity to score. We're simply not creating anything for Hope, who is working hard, but too isolated.

A minute's applause for Sven-Göran Eriksson. Almost 15 years ago he was at Christie Park

Stuart Moore with another cock-up. After a really bright start, he's gifted the opposition a goal, for a second game on the trot.

Last season, until he got injured, yes. This season, definitely not.

Football is a confidence game, for sure, and no position more than a goalkeeper. After last week, he needed a secure game to rebuild confidence. This isn't it.

Should have been 0-2

Oh great, a numpty of a referee as well. Tutonda with an excellent tackle, he gets booked. It wasn't even a free-kick.

Hope put through, but his touch had to take him away from goal. Ball worked out to Slew, who shot from distance, narrowly over. Then a minute or so later, Edwards twisted into the penalty area, then shot narrowly wide.

Still in this.

Edwards with another shot. This one straight at the keeper, but we've had more shots in the first 20 minutes than the previous three games. Slew's had some good driving runs too, but a few sloppy final balls.

WOW! What a save from Edwards' shot! How he managed to get a hand to it after a great strike from Edwards, about 12 yards out.

Oddly, I'm not too worried. We've been the better side. A goalkeeper error at one end, and a world-class save at the other. Nine times out of ten, we'd be winning 1-0, not losing. We've had seven shots so far.

As of half-time's live table, in our first four games, we've played the top three, and Walsall, who are currently in seventh.

It's coming.

Still 0 points 0 goals Keith

We can't get cut adrift which could happen if we don't start scoring

I agree, but if we'd lost to teams in the bottom third. I'd be more concerned.

52nd minute, Hope has the ball in the net, but off-side!
57th minute, another good save, this time from Jones free-kick.

There have been three Newport fouls that were worse than Tutonda's 'tackle', that haven't received a booking.

Stats show that we have had 13 shots to their 4. Surely we must be due a goal or two
