Good first half, we have had the best chances and should be one up.

More than happy with that first half performance...shame we couldn't convert one of the chances into a goal...

Better today but we need a striker ..

At least we have had a shot on target

Gills fans saying they have loads of injuries and would be happy with a draw

78mins and one shot on target

I don't think Hope has enough about him to play upfront on his own would rather have slew up there with his height

Derek always says the players have to show their skill and determination on the training ground. That might be your answer?

Better today, but nobody looks like scoring. Probably deserved a point, but played two, with zero goals isn't good.

Missing someone who has an eye for goal for sure. Some good play but the frontline isn't good enough. Hope works hard but not much else. Edwards a big difference but need a out and out poacher.

Also, Stott isn't going to cut the mustard IMO. Caught out too much and judges dropping balls very poorly. Thought Yann had a good game. Slew needs to start.

Has everyone missed Derek ball? ...

Better. But tough.

Much better than last week and that looked more like a Derek side. We more than competed with a fancied side and should have at least a point.

What are the rules regarding coaches standing on the gantry on the BW and issuing instructions?

Much better today, deserved a point. We do however need at least two loan signings to strengthen the squad, but that's not going to happen until we get new ownership.

First game for me this season including pre season other than the youth team at Kendal.

Wasn't expecting much from today's game after the results and reported poor performances BUT was surprised at the way we played and gave it a go against one of the favourites for promotion.

Yes we badly need a striker who can put himself about a bit and a really creative midfielder BUT the defense looks ok which is better than last season.

The problem we face however is that DA seems unprepared to give Brown a chance and to operate with 2 forwards at home. Hope is isolated and isn't muscular enough to cope with defenders who are good in the tackle and particularly in the air.

Whatever Brown has done presumably in training to warrant a complete shut out remain a mystery but it was the same last season before DA moved on and GB took over.

The goal they scored to win the game was possibly off side but the linesman saw it differently. That seemed to knock the spirit out of us which was always on the cards if and when the Gills scored.

Let's hope that the sale will be sorted to enable DA to get a decent striker on loan.

The plus point for me was the performance of Songo'o as a make shift centre back.

I agreed with the sponsors' choice of Tutonda as MotM, but Songo'o was close behind. A very solid defensive performance.

Some interesting, comments on the Gills fans forum.

Thay agreed we bossed first 45 but lacked some quality in certain areas. They felt their goal was offside although a few said one of our players played their man on side. On another day if we had a striker they would have gone home pointless so lucky to have taken the 3 points.

I thought we did enough to win that game, never mind draw. Gillingham were very fortunate.

On paper, the defence wasn’t the best but we defended well throughout the game and Songo’o was immense at centre back - my man of the match.

We’re definitely still missing something going forward and need to find a way of linking things up between Hallam Hope and the rest of the team. Still, we were miles better than v Walsall so that’s a start and we actually created a few chances. Another day, we’d have scored one or two goals. Gwion played well, despite getting fouled all game and Ben Tollitt looks handy.

If we play like that for the rest of the season we will be ok.

I went away thinking another 1-0 defeat if only we offered more in the final third!
To many times we lost the ball just inside their half giving back possession.

It is something to build on I’m not all doom and gloom, it’s small margins but we have no points we cannot continue losing it can soon end up a bad bad start if we don’t turn those margins around.

I need another look to absolutely nail where improvements are needed but it glaringly obvious a goal scorer has to be found from our squad.

Confidence has to be kept up, we are not far off, we look solid enough at the back and reasonable in midfield.

As my dad used to say ‘You don’t score you don’t win’, and that’s where we are.

After the clearance from their corner the ball was put back into the box, it found its way to to a Gills player marked by Hope.

He cannot of herd me from the Halo terrace not to let him turn you

As he turned him Hope fell over near the line, the Gills player got a low cross in and thou their goal scorer was beyond the our centre half but Hope on the floor played him on.

Gutted as it was just a hopeful punt back into the box from the edge of the area, like last weeks goal from a speculative shot after a corner.

Unfortunate but we have to do better up front is the consensus of opinion.

When watched back, it wasn't even close, two, possibly even three Morecambe players playing him on. Shame, we deserved a point, but more optimism after this defeat than the previous two.

Our defenders seemed convinced but looks a very good call from the linesman. Thought the officials were decent throughout

Shame not to take anything from that game, I really didn't think we were that bad. Just need a little bit more going forward but until we get any points on the board it's tough to predict where the first ones come from.

Just hoping that Derek might be bluffing when he says the budget is spent and there is actually some wiggle room for a couple of cheap loans. For the last few years we have always relied heavily and pushed the limits of how many we can take in, seems surprising that we only have 1 so far this season.
