Compared to last year I would say Burscough played twice as well and Morecambe played not half as well.
(we were very good last year). Some good play and a very good second goal for us and we just got caught by Burscough and their player took his goal well. I would squeeze another friendly in if possible, it well only do them well they are still learning to play together.

I would deffo squeeze another friendly in unless Derek has a behind closed door one arranged as well.

We need to start testing ourselves against better opposition. We've been making hard work of NW counties teams so it's going to be a big step up in the next few weeks.

I thought at longridge we did ok and created quite a few chances but there was little to report from last night's game apart from I suppose the players that didn't start at longridge have had some minutes now.

It's a bit sad to see whats happend at burscough, how they have had dropped so far and had to sell the ground etc think at one point they were in conf north and won the fa trophy.

For,me we've got our,pre season games schedule, just right. A couple,of warm up,games and then game against a higher opposition. Follo, that with Rovers at home and then away games with Sourhport and finally a,test more at outer level v Burton away

An excellent schedule

Only a friendly but a very good test for our new look side. Burton had a friendly derby v Port vale last week who themselves have assembled a very decent squad and have invested as they want to bounce back but the brewers made Vale look at best an average team and want to impress home fans tomorrow so they turn out in numbers to their 1st home game

I was worried out friendly schedule was a bit light on good opposition and after the Southport game I'm even more worried we have t had enough time to gell.

Surprised we didn't have a behind closed doors game somewhere this week, Derek normally schedules a few in.

Will be interesting to see how we do tomorrow.
