As with most professional leagues in most professional sports, the difference in standard between top and bottom is not as huge as it would be in an amateur setting and if the stars align on a particular day, the teams at the bottom can and do occasionally beat the teams at the top. But we do seem to do more than our fair share of talking up the opposition. All part of being “little [old] morecambe” I guess.
