I understand why he would want to put a statement out after the backlash he received but did he really have to go to those levels? I follow him on X and he has put out some fantastic tweets in the past but it seems like he is going through some sort of meltdown.

Cut through the venom and there are some worrying comments for the Accrington fans.

What goes on behind closed doors should remain so.

I can't imagine our BoDs ever coming out with that kind of statement no matter what disagreements of whatever they have with our manager at the time.

Our club's record in terminating a managers contract is unrivaled in the football world despite at times performances on the field have lead to concerns.

I'm surprised that the Accy Owner has made such details of his relationship with is management team over the last 2 seasons and am only thankful that I support a club that we remain loyal to our managers in sometimes very trying circumstances.

We should note the comment that he put the club up for sale but has had no potential buyers!

He has made Coley and Bell almost unemployable , certainly in the EFL.

I thought Coley might have jumped ship straight after Holts tweets regarding Bells interview. Holt has been a great owner for them but now he has turned in to the lad who brought the footy.

Hard to see Derek and Holt having a great working relationship. It most likely will be Doolan as he is in post , knows the club and knows Holt !

It sounds as if Holt will be cutting costs until he is able to flog it. Doolan will be a cheaper option.

Nothing wrong with going for the cheaper option

Think we possibly did that with Ged and he's doing a pretty decent job

I'm glad Ged came here when he did, otherwise he and Fitz would be favourites for the Stanley job!

Reading that, I cannot believe this guy is a successful businessman. Worse than some of the rants on here. Haha

Some parts I think are fair enough. Bell really was taking the piss when he did that radio interview and Holt was rightly fuming about it. The relationship had clearly soured, and it was quite obviously time for them to part ways. I'd also say the reasoning for doing it now instead of at the end of the season is fair.

However, this point Holt keeps going back to about Accrington's relegation from L1 being an objective and outright failure just isn't really fair. With their budget, relegation was always a distinct possibility. You can't count on your managers consistently overachieving. That said, I do think Coleman's transfer strategy was poor - signed shed loads of players on a very scatter gun approach, and this time it didn't churn out a Colby Bishop/Dion Charles. I know it was mentioned potentially going for Coleman when Derek left but I'm very glad we didn't.
