I would offer him a great contract to bring him back but I think he's good enough to stay in league 1.

Peter Thompson as well as Baker please!! Problem as usual is going to be the wage demands, particularly if the player is a free agent. However with the current financial climate there are undoubtedly going to be some bargains for those who can keep their nerve and snap them up later on if they haven't got a deal sorted out elsewhere.

Peter Thompson would be a brilliant signing but his wage demands would obviously be way out of our league.

Put an offer on the table , he may just be glad of a job like a lot of other people at the moment . Its an unfortunate situation at the moment with all these clubs going to the wall but for those that are left, they have better bargaining power just like the housing market its not what you want its what you get. :o

He knows what it's like here, if he can get a decent wage we can afford to give him considering whether he was comfortable or not when he was last year he might sign back.
Get over it ;)

I think Carl is potentially a quality player.....but, he did go off the boil (like many) towards the end of the season that he had with us. Had he not, the interest clubs like Wolves showed in him might have been sustained and he'd be playing higher.

got to be worth a tickle if he's got over his nasty injury. Like many have said, there's bound to be a lot of bargains this summer. they can put up what wage demands they like, but we can actually give them a wage, maybe not huge money but at least reliable money.

There may be a few players willing to talk about a reduced wage on a 12 month deal, to keep themselves working but also taking a gamble on a better contract as the country comes out of a recession. Obviously that logic may fail if they are listening to agents who are bigging their clients up unrealistically still.

So how did that work out then?

Lets cut out the middle man and do some straight dealing then , these agents are just out to line their own pockets for doing nothing . Thats the cause of all the problems with Tevez and who owns him as the papers say ( i thought slavery had been abolished ) . :o :o

I understand that whatever signing on fee Tevez may get IF he leaves Man U for a new club, has to be given to his owners.

It's therefore no wonder that his owners are refuting any discussions have taken place with Tevez directly by Man U. No doubt he's under orders to deny everything.
