Chris Stokes

Chris Stokes

Somewhat baffling for me is the non inclusion of Chris Stokes in the current starting line up.

Until he got injured he was looking to be an excellent addition to the team with a strong vocal presence on the pitch something that we badly need as we are too quiet during a game.

Maybe the transfer window could see the departure of one of our current defenders and for me Chris is more than capable of being a much needed leader on the pitch.

I have been surprised that both Stokes and Cammy Smith have played so little up to now.

I would like to see Cammy Smith start tomorrow and if Stokes is back to fitness then I hope he starts too.

We lost 5-0 on Friday and it will be disappointing if there aren't some changes.

Like last season, we lack leaders in big games when things go wrong. Sometimes characters are more important than playing ability

I know it is slightly off topic but i couldn't believe poor Eli King was sent out to face the cameras on Friday night. Surely one of the older pro's should have stepped up and protected the younger players.

Chris looked unfit when he played in the friendlies, but when he was finally called on he came in and did a good job. If we loose Connelly thier is no rush to replace him we can strengthen elsewhere and give Chris a go. I agree some older heads in certain games during the second half of the season will prove crucial in picking up points. I want to throw in Max Melbourne in with that, he can come in and also do a good job. The young lads will tire they are playing a lot of games now. It looks like Love will be back soon and Moore back for the end of the season, which will help.

I can see us losing connelly
as he was loaned out by a manager no longer at the club
so May we be recalled by the new leader
