FA Cup 3rd round draw

FA Cup 3rd round draw

Postby shrimp in cyprus » Sun Dec 03, 2023 8:53 am

We are number 46 in the hat, so I reckon that if we draw number 23, and given that we are twice that number, then we will score twice the number of goals than the opposition will in the actual match. So, probably a 2-1 win for us.

Not telling you ....... look it up yourself !!!!! :D :D :D :D

What time is the draw? Is it live on ordinary TV?

Hoping for a good draw....away at Anfield? :D

Best draw possible:

Away at Liverpool, Everton, Man City, Man Utd or Newcastle.

Still delighted:

Away at any of the other 'big' Premier League sides, Chelsea, West Ham etc.

Happy enough:

Home to anyone.

Oh for f***s sake:

Away to someone we've played many times, but who would be expected to beat us, such as Oxford, Rotherham or Peterborough.

Worst possible draw:

Away to the winner of Stevenage v Port Vale. So, that's the one then  .

Dirty Leeds away. Direct train, they will probably still sell the ground out and we'd have a chance.

Non league at home, TV maybe? Get through with 100K+ in the bank and then a big away day up north.

Zero chance of that being on TV. Away at non-League might be, but the tend to want a Premier League side in the 3rd Round, live games.

Could have been worse but not much.

Just hope that when the tie is played that all our loanees are available. If not can't think of any replacements so soon after the window opens.

Bit of a mission but could be worse. New ground, ex prem team, hopefully still 10,000+ crowd. I reckon we will also take 700-800 and we might just create an upset.

Wrexham would have been a 10,000 crowd, but not too far to travel.

Seriously underwhelmed with this draw. Could have been worse. Could have been MUCH better. Be great to sneak a draw, then be live on TV for a replay.

Our last six FA Cup draws have been away from home.
Our last three League Cup draws have been away from home.

Home to Newport: FA Cup
Away to Buxton: FA Cup
Away to Spurs: FA Cup
Home Stoke: League Cup
Away Rotherham: League Cup
Away to Sheffield Wednesday: FA Cup
Away MK Dons: League Cup
Away Rotherham: League Cup
Away to Lincoln City: FA Cup
Away to Wycombe: FA Cup
Away to Swansea: FA Cup

Likelihood of six FA Cup away games, in succession, is 1/64
Likelihood of seven FA & League cup draws away, in succession, is 1/128

The odds of being away in the next draw is 50:50
Like poor refereeing decisions, these things are supposed to balance out...
