GB post match interview

GB post match interview

Postby redrobo » Sat Nov 25, 2023 5:56 pm

Hopefully GB's post match interview will be on the OWS but on Radio Lancashire he was annoyed with his defence who didn't do the basics right.

Appreciate his honesty and just hope that the lads respond on Tuesday and put today's result down as a one off.

I still feel that GB deserves a crack at the job until the close season at least.

There is a huge difference between being a good coach and a good manager.

I would expect that A N Other new manager will be at The Mazuma on Tuesday evening and may be announced Wednesday.

GB got it wrong, two changes in defence plus playing Mayer as a number ten instead of out wide as a winger for his pace.

plus every team we play from now on will exploit that our goalkeeper is not our number 1 and shoot on sight.

Hard to know if Ged should shoulder responsibility for this result (which doesn’t reflect well on his application for the manager job) or is that unfair and he just took temporary charge at the worst time possible against a powerhouse team?

I think if Derek had been there songo would have started. Every time Wrexham got the ball 30 yards out we just didn't have an answer for them.

To be fair he did move mayor back out wide but I would have taken Slew off at halftime for songo.

Yep looking at the line we had no defensive midfielder
I would have dropped slew moved mayor out wide and put Yann in the middle

Nail on the head. People criticise Yann, but we need "someone" in that position, and the loss of Love is also showing our weakness as he performed well as a DF when necessary. Same happened last year with having to use Liam Gibson out of position as a DM. Sadly our centre backs make too many mistakes and need someone in front of them to protect them and therefore protect the GK more. Team selection yesterday was poor. They were set up to fail!
